  1. I don't know what a successful tour should have this close to the tour dates, but this looks pretty successful.

    Or am I completely wrong?

    1. this is absolutely a successful tour. in the venues with "less than 1000 tickets", those are all lawn seats only. so yeah, the sheds will be packed!! its going to be a brilliant tour!!

  2. Of the 80-ish dates on The Cure's upcoming world tour, Seattle Washington and Portland Oregon (USA) are the only two cities in which concerts were ANNOUNCED but no actual concerts will be PLAYED. Coincidentally, these are the only two cities I could have made. So as not to appear a COMPLETELY selfish bastard, many thousands of other fans were similarly affected. That was the insult on top of the original injury, the original injury being the fact that of the 19 concerts postponed in 2007, Seattle was the only date of the 19 that was not rescheduled in its original venue. The date WAS rescheduled, but not in Seattle; it was rescheduled as a festival date 200 miles away at roughly ten times the cost per ticket of the originally scheduled in-city date. Since I am so obviously a 'glass is half-full' kinda guy, I must say that the cost of the ticket to the original 2007 date WAS refunded, leaving to be raised only 90% of the cost of a ticket for the newly scheduled festival date. The cost was just not manageable at the time. "See you all very soon!" (actually it was "SEE YOU ALL VERY SOON!") ???? Hardly. This is for all the fans who waited patiently for the details of the "Seattle WA" gig to be announced only to find out there would be no "Seattle WA" performance, and for all the fans who cannot make the festival date either because of the nearly $400 ticket price or because they refuse to attend a show at, to quote Liam Gallagher, a shithole. Thanks guys.

  3. Ouch guess you can't please everyone. Just sad to see that if I still lived on Oahu I could have seen them 4 times this year because Chicago is real close to my home town. Should I complain now. Robert you should have known I was moving and conveniently scheduled your Hawaii shows so I can see them boo hoo

  5. So it looks like Portland, Charlotte and Atlanta are the only three US markets that are underselling thus far.

    1. The 2nd Honolulu show is hardly selling at all for some reason.

    2. I am glad it is selling well, but I'd hoped they would play smaller venues. The reality is that most people in these big venues are there for only a handful of songs.

    5. yeah, but a band this size just cant tour theaters. thats no assurance only real fans would get tix.

    6. They did shows in 2008 in smaller venues in addition to the big ones. When they came to LA I think they played at both Hollywood Bowl and Shrine Auditorium. I was hoping for a show in an indoor venue this time. HB ticket prices are not only overinflated but the seats suck (hard old wooden benches, unless you're in the vaunted box seats), and parking is a disaster. But grateful they're at least coming.

    7. yeah, the bowl is definitely the source of chagrin for most concert goers. As awful as the parking is, and pricey the food - i still think summer nights in LA are the best for an outdoor concert.
my recollection of the the two was that the bowl had a more user friendly setlist - but the shrine had a much more chaotic atmosphere. I think the pit at the shrine was well oversold.

  6. Surprised the scalpers haven't bought them all to resell.

  7. Why would ticket scalpers buy them to begin with if they're not selling?

  8. I meant to say surprised they were not all bought by scalpers to begin with which woild make the show seem sold out or selling out. Sorry for not clarifying what I meant

  10. Yes, it looks like scalpers bought a lot of tickets for HNL show #1, and then because they weren't re-selling well for that show, they didn't bother to buy tickets to HNL show #2. So, the second show has a lot of great seats available still.
