Robert's favorite New Order songs

From New Order's Singularity, a new site with personal contributions from creatives who have been influenced by New Order, Robert picks his favorite New Order songs.

Update from Robert on Facebook:

IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE "ROBERT SMITH'S TOP TEN" - IN THIS NEW ORDER:
01 IN A LONELY PLACE
02 TEMPTATION
03 EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN
04 PROCESSION
05 BIZARRE LOVE TRIANGLE
06 BLUE MONDAY
07 CEREMONY
08 TRUE FAITH
09 DREAMS NEVER END
10 PERFECT KISS

  1. not the most exciting selection - all bar 'dreams never end' are on 'substance'

    1. Haha...ya, my first thought, too, was "So you're saying Robert Smith owns a copy of Substance?"

    2. it's a bit like bernard sumner picking 8 tracks off 'standing on the beach' plus one off three imaginary boys

    1. I think it's the best album they have ever made, not a bad track on it!

  4. Is the drum machine feud over? Is a new album coming? Is hell freezing over? Worse, is he doing a duet with Morrissey? Strange times.

  5. Et tu Robert! That being said, I went right to the site to check it out of course. Just feels a bit cheesy to me.

  9. Dreams never end....hardly a surprise, since Bob basically covered it with The Walk

    1. Dreams never end is supposedly copied on Inbetween days, not in The walk.
The song you're thinking about is Blue monday. If you are gonna accuse Robert of copying something, at least get the song names right.

    2. calm down...you're right i meant inbetween days. Oh , and I dont need to "accuse" Robert of anything...its obvious to anyone with two ears on their head. Except the touchy psychophant fan obviously..

    3. Sorry, didn't intend to sound that harsh (or touchy psychophant). English is not my first language and sometimes my translations sound a little to "enthusiastic". I was actually surprise he didn't pick Elegia, as Disintegration (the album) sounds really inspired sonically on it.

  10. New Order blatantly ripped off a few Cure songs as well, so it worked both ways ....
