Interview & live clips from the Dream Tour

Interview with Robert, and performances of 'Fascination Street' & 'Want', from the Dream Tour stop at Livid Festival in Brisbane on Oct. 21st, 2000.

"It's become pretty common knowledge, really, that this is the last big tour we'll ever do."

Hahahahahahaha! Yeah, we had heard that one a few times before, Robert. :)

  6. The Dream Tour is probably the only one where Robert has done the shows stone cold sober. I remember his comment about why he did that, and it was something along the lines of that if he can't enjoy performing without alcohol, then why is he doing it?

  7. The press surrounding the release of "Bloodflowers" was the first time I heard Robert say this would be the end of The Cure. I found that so depressing, and I couldn't be in Toronto during the summer to see the band on tour and didn't want to ask my parents about letting me visit just for a concert. Seems like the band hasn't performed as great a setlist in Toronto since; shame I missed it.

    2. It was my first Cure concert and I was there in the front of the 200 section of the venue, right behind the owner of the Babble e-mail list, who was in the back of the pit section. One of the list mods was also there. It was a great show.

  8. Does anyone else remember that there was supposed to be like 10 full Dream Tour concerts recorded for live albums? Or am I just making that up right now:.?

    3. I don't recall hearing that, but I do remember Robert mentioning plans for a 2cd "best of" live set of the Euro shows and a 2cd set for the North American shows.

    4. Yes, Robert mentioned it on the official site. Never came to be, unfortunately.

  10. To flip the smiles upside down, The Dream Tour of course saw The Cure cease being a 100% live band, as they introduced f***ng backing tracks to a lot of songs...
