Update: Deep Discount (US), Amazon (US), Amazon (Canada), Amazon (UK), and Amazon (Germany) have it up for pre-ordering, though note that the UK, German, and Canadian sites only list the US import right now.
Rhino has given the 3 CD remastered edition of Disintegration a release date (subject to change, of course) - Feb. 16th, 2010 in the US. (Thanks Friend of CoF)

well that's good then. makes up a bit for the non release of the dark album (which i don't believe even exists).
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT NEWS!
ReplyDeleteI'll believe it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteWell at least we know what the earliest date of release will be. :P
ReplyDeleteAh three days before my birthday! what a treat that would be....
ReplyDeletethe dark album, I believe that all the musical tracks exist, but as to vocals and if it was finalised in any manner, well that is a mystery for the ages indeed!
thanks for the update...fingers crossed, but breath not held (i'm asthmatic) : )
Oh Craig, check out Tim Pope's website, he has a nice story up about being the last (possible) director to work with David Tennant as the Doctor (David even asks about The Cure).
ReplyDeletei think the earliest date it could come out is next tuesday. as for the latest...
ReplyDeleteNow that's a nice bit of Yuletide cheer!
ReplyDeleteooooh yay!! I'm excited!
ReplyDeletethat's exciting!
ReplyDeletei'm just hoping for before my birthday, which is in march
where's this info from?
WHAT??? February 16th... that's still Winter... YEEEAAAHHHHHH!!! Let's all hope "Friend of COF" is correct!!!!! ;0)
ReplyDeleteWho is putting it out? Geffen/UMG? Rhino/Elektra?
ReplyDeleteThomas: Robert has already said that it would be released by Universal and Rhino.
ReplyDeleteThe band are no longer signed to Geffen.
Andrew: Thanks! I will check that out. : )
ReplyDeletegreat news! hopefully it happens!!!

ReplyDeleteWell that's the date for now, but as we all know, Cure releases never make it out on the first release date that is scheduled. : P
ReplyDeletevery true...
ReplyDeleteyay! With hope xx
ReplyDeleteim seriously suffering from an absence of Cure presence...touring..releasing...everything..
Febulous febulous
ReplyDeleteCall this febulous
*bounce* *bounce*
ReplyDeleteThere's some serious bouncing coming from Kate's department ;)
ReplyDelete3 disc Disintegration by February? Wish remaster by Summer? Am I asking too much now?
*wink* at Andrew127!
ReplyDelete*bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
Bring on Disintegration!
ReplyDeleteIt would be the perfect you know what for the Winter blues.
i'm so going to get the 3cd thing and the double vinyl!
ReplyDeleteYou can pre-order it from Amazon.com. Not Deluxe edition this time, but 20th anniversary edition. *also bouncing*
ReplyDeletewoohoo! It's on my calendar (in pencil, of course)
ReplyDeleteAamazon.de says it's gonna be released by Rhino/WEA. (Don't know if this is for the US or the UK release, for Germany it's only listed as an import yet.)

ReplyDeleteThe previous remasters (with the exception of 3IB) were released in batches of 3... So hopefully we'll get mixed up 1&2 and wish at the same time...
ReplyDeleteOr maybe we'll just get disintegration and the 'dark album' (which DOES exist - I talked to Keith about it in Vegas)
and maybe the 'dark tour 2010' too??? first set = new dark album... Second set = Disintegration live!! Encores = other prettiest and darkest and heaviest and loveliest and loudest cures ...
Wishful thinking???
Unless plans have changed, Disintegration will be released on its own, not in a grouping.
ReplyDeleteWalter: Rhino/WEA handles it in the US, Universal handles it in Europe and elsewhere. So what you see listed is the US import.
ReplyDeleteYES this is amazing...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have a bit of Curespotting x]
Today on NCIS Abby was blasting "The Lovecats". Also, the South Park episode with Robert Smith fighting "Mecha Streisand" was playing on Mtv.
I'm really looking forward to this release, whenever it happens.
ReplyDeleteCraig, do you think they will be doing any shows within the next year or two? Do we who are stateside have any real hope of even a one-off before The End in 2012? ;-) (Experiencing 'Underneath the Stars' live is still on my bucket list.)
I must see the cure, i have seen depeche mode and thought to myself how much i need to see Robert and the boys.
ReplyDeleteLink for amazon.ca, Craigers!
ReplyDeleteOnly a little over a month until Caprica! Check out the pilot (which I've seen) when it airs Jan 22. You'll at least like it.
underneath the stars? PLAINSONG live is still on my bucket list :/
ReplyDeleteanyway, i love disintegration soso much, i'm so excited about thisss haha
The New Sound will be AMAZING !!!!
ReplyDeleteThe dark album exists Scott, I believe that it has a lot to do with the cure leaving Geffen. The last release was supposed to be a double album with the second half being the "dark album"...remember?
ReplyDeleteYAY! I ordered mine!
ReplyDeleteI also have "Plainsong" on my list as I have had the wonderful experience of hearing "Underneath the Stars" in concert twice.
I am REALLY hoping for Wish too...and of course a dark album!
I envy you MissDrea83, and Lindsey, I must admit that 'Plainsong' live is beyond spectacular. *sigh*
ReplyDelete*sigh* i hope someday i get the opportunity
ReplyDeleteI'm not that much into instrumental demos
ReplyDelete(only if they really sound wonderful and particular,
like maybe the Lullaby demo from the Hits site (2001), had it been a bit longer)
So I wish the WISH BONUS DISC will top all the others with great OUTTAKES and of course the Lost Wishes.
Craig, maybe you should do a poll :
(concerning previously Released songs)
"Do you prefer instrumental demo's or live versions on the BONUS DISC ??"
I think I prefer the live versions.
Very Sensitive Subject !!!!

ReplyDeleteLook at the Kiss Me bonus disc
ReplyDeleteI think I'd prefer having (I guess by far ????)
the whole Kiss Me album in live version
(like the new Entreat actually)
than the wholo KM in (instrumental) demo version
What do you think
Just want to clear out that I'm very very grateful for the new Entreat which means the whole Disintegration album in live version.
ReplyDeleteIt's an absolutely great and perfect concept.
Just saying this 'cause I know Robert gets pissed by f***ing mutterings on the internet (about compilations, reissues and many more) :)

that'd be an interesting poll
ReplyDeleteas fun as instrumental demos are, yeah, i'd really prefer live :)
I take that back...I did indeed see "Plainsong"...
ReplyDeleteand I would love to hear it live again!
