ReplyDeletewow!!! Unexpected news

ReplyDeleteYes!!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! *sends good vibes to anyone that wants tix*
ReplyDeleteRead this in the METRO this morning and I thought all news came from the internet these days! Great news!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...right? Well I can assure you that "the internet" knew, but the announcement wasn't supposed to be made until Noon UK time. A few people, including the charity, decided to jump the gun just a bit. :)
DeleteIt was just nice to turn the page on a rainy commute into London and be beaming away at something that made the paper :)
DeleteI am there ...
ReplyDeleteAlready in panic mode for Friday morning...
ReplyDeleteme too, me too! :O
ReplyDeleteI hope the scalpers will piss of this time!
ReplyDeleteme & my brother paid over £200 each for our reflections tickets. with a starting price of £110 i imagine they will be going on seatwave for at least 3 times that.
ReplyDeleteShould we try to buy several tickets if posible to sell them at face value to other cure fans to avoid scalpers?
ReplyDeleteyep - craig has run a service on cof before doing this
ReplyDeleteI don't think id panic to get a ticket….For Reflections I had a spare ticket and ended up having to sell it a a fraction of the price outside on the night like many others!!!
ReplyDeleteIt will sell out really quickly though!
ReplyDeleteUnexpected but great news anyway!
ReplyDeleteAfter Robert´s statement of a "regular 3 hours-long CURE show" the question is if new material will be played or just a mix of hits & fan songs.
Well, I want to listen something new, at least the RJS-RG pop song.
What we can expect?
Or it´s better idea to have no expectations at all?
:)
Is this a new promo pic? http://www.royalalberthall.com/uploadedImages/Whats_On_and_Buy_Tickets/Events/assets/TCT-The-Cure-l.jpg
ReplyDeleteThat's exciting. Portland next, please.
ReplyDeleteYay!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be madly hitting Refresh at 09.30am on Friday, here:

Fan presale at 9am tomorrow,...woohoo !
ReplyDeletewith presale code...???
ReplyDeleteLink on cure.com
ReplyDeletePANIC ATTACK!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI won't sleep tonight at all.
and if I miss the tickets tomorrow morning then I won't be sleeping tomorrow night either!
oh my GOD!!!!! :)
THANKYOU ROBERT!!!!!! :)
I`m pretty sure, there will be no new stuff. But maybe some further surprises from The Top Album...(Piggy in the mirror...etc.)
ReplyDeleteHow in the hell is this a "beat the touts" pre-sale? And a 10 ticket per person limit? How are the touts restricted from buying the pre-sale tickets? What am I missing?
ReplyDeleteIndeed... Maybe they just think the touts are not aware of the presale if they only announce it on band related websites? (and only one day before the presale takes place?) Doesn't explain the 10-ticket limit though...
DeleteI agree with you Craig! Do you only need an account or is there any other identification to prove you're not a tout?
ReplyDeleteAnd 10 ticket limit, what a joke. 2 tickets would've been more appropriate
That`s the reason why I asked for a presale code for the true fans.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow starts the same shit as always. Sooo sad...
ReplyDeleteBut no matter, I must be there, cause Royal Albert Hall is such a beautiful place to feel music...!!!
Or perhaps you'll have to answer ten band-related questions for each ticket you want to buy :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so nervous :S
ReplyDeleteSo there is no fan 'code', is there?
ReplyDeleteRidiculous prices again. There will be very few 27 pound tickets the worst places.
ReplyDeleteCraig, come on, should i really get in the red at the bank to go see this, or i should be ok with the bank with normal price tickets later this year, if you see what i mean?...
ReplyDeleteDon't feel too bad, it's for charity.
Deletebut my bank account needs a charity event too! :)
DeleteThe charity point doesn't really make a difference to me. The reflections gig wasn't for charity yet it was an extortionate price for most tickets.

DeleteThis is not "a fan presale"....Gigsandtours have changed their front page from Friday 9.30 to thurdsday 9am....good luck to you all
ReplyDeletecountdown to tickets, close now. If I can I will be ordering 10 gallery and will sell at face value, but that is a big IF
ReplyDeleteTicket limit was dropped to 4.
DeleteI got two standing tickets! Huzzah. See you all there in March. Good luck everyone getting tickets.
ReplyDeletegallery all gone at 9.01
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePhew!!! Standing this time :-)
ReplyDelete"it's all GONE"
ReplyDeleteoh well try again tomorrow - No wonder fans of the cure are imagined as being gloomy and depressed. Its because we can't get tickets! + generally I do enjoy being a moody fker sometimes ;)
Remember, theres anther chance tomorrow - id recommend pre registering with the ticket companies - save time entering address etc
ReplyDeletestill tickets left :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to everyone who got tickets today. It's a bit of a Cure miracle, as it seems we did "beat the touts" and fans actually got tickets. So happy with that.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't get what you wanted today, please try again tomorrow, as only a limited amount of tickets were available for the pre-sale.
And if you want to "upgrade" your current ticket, I will be happy to list your extra tickets for sale, as long as you sell them at face value.
Thanks to the presale this is the FIRST time I have EVER been able to get standing tickets at the RAH. Up until now it's been impossible. I was expecting to get nothing - I thought the site would probably crash at 9.00a.m. It's amazing that this time not only did I get tickets, I got the ones I really wanted - and it looks like lots of other fans did too. :) I've never seen so many happy Curefriends before! :)
DeleteThankyou Robert!!! :) XXXXXX
Keep checking. There are more gallery seats up again!
ReplyDeleteStanding tix available again! Go!
ReplyDeleteOk, I take it back - I managed to get a standing ticket. Keep trying as there seem to be some popping in and out!
ReplyDeleteOkay, all standing pre-sale tickets are now officially sold out. Many more will be available in the general sale tomorrow at 9:30 am.
ReplyDeletei have two tickets on standing ! great!!
ReplyDeleteWell, that went easy (1 standing)! Finding a proper hotel room turns out to be more difficult than getting the ticket...
ReplyDelete(Yay!)
ReplyDeleteYey! Standing ticket was scored!
ReplyDeleteno joy - not happy.
ReplyDeletefingers crossed for tomorrow
I've got 3 extra standing tickets for The Cure. Face Value, 110 pounds. If anyone is interested, please contact me: leeveedad@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I DON'T have it!!! they're sold.
DeleteI managed to get 2 standing :) Happy, happy.. now I'll just have to make my way from Sweden to London in march!
ReplyDeleteSee you there and good luck with tix tomorrow
Got my standing tickets...first time RAH!
ReplyDeleteKeep trying...tickets still pop up
had a meeting at 9am so couldn't sit by a computer, just got out to find out my mate has scored us standing tickets! I am so chuffed.Hope others are successful at some point. Wonder if as this is a charity gig I can offset the ticket price against tax :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso on the whole tout thing, having spent 10 years in the ticketing industry before getting out I can assure you fan codes mean jack all. Firstly, touts get them too and get others to buy them tickets if there are limits. Secondly and probably most annoyingly many 'fans' have become small scale touts. The internet and secondary ticketing sites have made it easy to just buy a couple of extra tickets and sell them to cover the cost of your own tickets.
YES!! For the 3rd time to the RAH to see The Cure :)
ReplyDeleteNot cheap....who cares?
ReplyDeleteIts The Cure @ RAH
Got my standig Ticket!
Got my seated tickets. Very happy they didn't all sell out at 9:01. The RAH is an amazing venue.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else finding it a little wierd how easy these tickets are to get?
ReplyDeleteI think there are a number of reasons why. The short time between announcement of the gig and tickets going on sale is probably the main one. That, and the high price, purchase restrictions on bulk buying and far less demand for this show as opposed to the Reflection concert.
DeleteThe high prices and timescales involved are definitely one of the major reasons I believe.. That and perhaps not too many folks (other than the real fans) really knew about the pre-sale.
DeleteAt the corresponding gig at RAH in 2006, the top price seated tickets were only approx £50 (there was no standing that day)..
I suppose the real reflection (pardon the pun) will be in tomorrow's proper sale.. Will be interesting to see how that goes..
Must admit I was more than surprised to be able to purchase my standing tickets before 9:01 this morning though..
i think the presale isn't that well known. many people assume the tix go on sale tomorrow. i wasn't able to find the presale by searching gigsandtours website. only with the link the presale was found. reflections was even more expensive and it sold out very fast. and this is the first proper cure gig in europe since reflections. i would be very surprised if this doesnt sell out.
ReplyDeletemy 29th Cure show on the 29th :)
ReplyDeletewe should start the campaign for 'BURN', yes?
good luck to all those trying for tix tomorrow!
My 39th. I hope they wont play 39.
ReplyDeleteMy 34th...mmmhhh...any ideas ???
ReplyDelete;-))
Just got mine from gigsandtours . Sooooooo happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy and its 6pm ....
ReplyDeleteJust got mine from gigsandtours . Sooooooo happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy and its 6pm ....
ReplyDeleteI'll only be happy when the play in New England again, it's been 5 years!!!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't believe there were (and still are!) tickets available on the pre-sale when I got home from work. Yeah they are seated not standing, but what really matters is I got tickets :) Cannot wait to see them with Reeves on guitar :)
ReplyDeleteI spoke to them on the phone this morning and he said the presale was only available on the internet, and never managed to get a standing ticket there. I hope to get one tomorrow, but do you all remember how fats they had gone last time? fingers crossed though....
ReplyDeleteAnd such a good cause too!
ReplyDeleteDue to phenomenal demand - Saturday 29th March show at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust SOLD OUT on fan club pre sales alone - The Cure have added an extra show for Friday 28th March.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thecure.com/news/1895/rah_tct_presale
"Phenomenal demand"? "Sold out"? "Fan club"?
DeleteWTF? Who wrote that nonsense?
Sold out : pre sale or the whole venue ?!
ReplyDeleteNeither. Tickets still available.
DeleteNow sold out for Saturday.
Deletetickets for friday ? when are they for sale ?
ReplyDeleteToday at 9:30 am UK time.
Deletewhere are the links for the friday gig?! panic!!
ReplyDeleteI'm checking all of the ticket sites and none have posted them yet.
Deletethanks, i'm doing the same in manic panic!
Deletehttp://www.seetickets.com/event/the-cure/royal-albert-hall/767248 see tickets is up

ReplyDeleteheart attack man !!! . . 2 cure standing tickets for friday, 2 cure tickets for saturday, and 2 tickets for Suede on sunday . . wow, what a weekend, RAH here i come :-)
ReplyDeletethey went so quickly.......
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been able to get gallery tickets for the friday? Keeps on saying they are unavailable on all 4 sites since the tickets were released.
ReplyDeleteyeah i managed to get 2 on seetickets
DeleteEven though the sites show no tickets available at times, keep refreshing. Tickets are popping up from time to time.
ReplyDelete9.48 am here in the UK, standing tickets and the cheapest seated tickets still available on Ticketmaster site for friday
ReplyDeleteGot my ticket for fridayayayay..
ReplyDeleteStanding both nights..
Flights are booked.
Its friday....
oh and a tip you may know but just in case, on Ticketmaster try searching for 1 ticket. there may well be numerous 'single' tickets available but if they're not next to each other on the system it will only sell them as singles.
ReplyDeleteWhat does mean "Contact venue for tickets"?
ReplyDeleteI guess they dont have tickets anymore at gigsandtours but they might know that there are some left at the RAH-website.
DeleteKeep trying... in case of failed creditcard transactions some tickets may show up within the next hours.
Oh now it says to contact the venue for Gallery tickets and I'm 410 in the queue on RAH site. That is me probably out then!
ReplyDeletestill tickets if you refreshing ;
ReplyDeletehttp://www.gigsandtours.com/event/the-cure/royal-albert-hall/767248
Still pulling up stalls and restricted circle at the RAH website. Pulled Standing and Stalls at GigsandTours. But they go fast! Keep trying!
ReplyDeleteDid not see any stalls... Life sucks!
ReplyDeleteThoughts on the "special" show setlist folks? Robert hinted a potential theme last year. Could it happen...
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you've ever been to the venue, but they don't sell that many gallery tickets as it's just a flat standing area around the the rim of the top seats. If it's more than a couple of people deep, you can't see a thing as you're looking steeply down to the stage.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've been there once before and there maybe 200 or so people in the gallery areas. Its just frustrating as none of them popped up. I secured two yesterday but the page messed up when loaded and so I lost them.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you missed out :(
ReplyDeleteHi All, Feeling pretty traumatized with the whole Royal Albert Hall phoneline/online booking process, spent 2 hours trying to get through only to be offered 'restricted view' tickets at £75 each!!! Dearly wanted some cheaper tickets for the friday, even Gallery Standing, if anyone has 2 spare to sell please get in touch here or via my email: frank@flagpromotions.com. ALSO: Am thinking of organising a cool CURE AFTERSHOW PARTY for the friday and or Saturday, would people be up for this?
ReplyDeleteAftershow would be great on the Saturday!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this getmein website??? Something more or less official?
ReplyDeleteIt's a ticket resale site run by Ticketmaster. It's still scalping.
DeleteHi Craig, i'm thinking of arranging a CURE AFTERSHOW PARTY after the RAH show(s), do you think people will be up for it?
ReplyDeleteI could make a post about it, see what people think. What do you have in mind? Write up something for me to post.
DeleteSure gmdelao@gmail.com coming from Mexico to RAH
DeleteWe are two, so we'd like joining us
DeleteI am in talks with 2 venues just now, one very posh one quite close to RAH but it's a little expensive but absolutely beautiful! License is until 2.30am, is that late enough? And the a venue in North London that THE CURE actually played once, that's licensed until 4am!
