Early performance of A Forest

Today's Vintage Video at Slicing Up Eyeballs features The Cure performing an early version of 'A Forest' from Dec 17th, 1979, at the Bataclan in Paris.

    The paragraphs below the video say that even though the video says the song is At Night, it's really A Forest.... If you listen to it, it IS A Forest anyways haha... Thanks much for the video!

    i know it's a forest, haha - but listen to the lyrics, they do have "at night" in them

    That's why it's called an early version. The lyrics weren't finalized yet at the time. This song evolved into A Forest, while At Night became something entirely different.

    I have a pretty high-quality version of this video on DVD by the way. It's a "bonus feature" on a bootleg DVD of Glasgow '84. Figures that the bonus feature has better video than the main concert.
