  1. Here's an Amazon review I put together for 4:13 Dream. I'd appreciate anyone that wants to give me some helpful points. Thanks.

  2. why are the lyrics to 'the reasons why' embarrassing?

  3. What's the point in reviewing someone's review? It's just your personal opinion, differs from mine for example, but so what?

  5. I. HATE. "PROFESSIONAL". MUSIC. CRITICS.

  6. I just felt like the first line read like an entry out of an angsty sixteen-year-old's poetry book. Other than that, I enjoy the song, but that first line always makes me smirk.

  10. so far i have not had any problems with the album whatsoever. i haven't had a chance to blast it, though, and i'm wondering if there are going to be issues with clarity. it sounds incredibly loud at low volume. i hope it's mixed to be played with clarity at loud levels. anyone notice any issues with that yet?

that said, the lyrics and music are all top notch, classic (and new direction) cure. digging it the most.

  11. i actually do have some slight probs with some of the production. it's better than TC's muddiness, that's for sure, but some of the songs still sound a bit weird. but then some sound crystal clear. otherwise i fucking love it. trsw is a bit lackluster, though, but the rest rocks my tits.

  12. monkeybutt, I was blasting it in my car when I got it yesterday, and volume issues tend to be track-specific and not present on the whole album. UTS sounded great loud, but The Only One sort of broke up and got smooshed together with high volume. Then things were fine until The Hungry Ghost, where the vocals really stand out from the rest of the mix at high volume. Mostly, the production is ok at high volume, but it doesn't hold together like older records. Just another minor casualty of the loudness war, I suppose.

  13. thanks, zephyraris. that's the idea i was getting at low levels- some songs sounded off, while others were good. like cat said. wondering if the vinyl is different, but doubtful.

personally, i think disintegration is their best produced album, in all respects.

  14. Very happy with the album. Got 2 full listen in me, yay! First time, I got shivers near the end of UTS and nearly through all of The Scream. Awesome feeling.
I adore the line-up of THANWY, SWID, Scream and Over.
And I love how It's Over picks you up at the end and throws you around the room, smashing you against the walls like a rag-doll.
Any song that can do that is very powerful indeed.

  15. the production is quite erratic.
Some song sounds very clean, like UTS and some other is just buried (like Swirl, THANWY, and The Scream) with the vocals all over the rest. It's just a little complaining cos the record is very good.

  16. True, it's seems all over the place...
    What's Swirl? Am I missing a song?

    EGAD!

  17. I like this album better than Wish , I rate it very high actually perhaps over Kiss me and The head even.

It has many layers , each new listen a layer peels off revealing something new.

It's bloody good, makes "The Cure" look indeed as if done by a cover band.

  18. hello cure user. i fucking love the album. i do agree with luca about the sometimes patchy production, but overall the production AND the album are better than TC, even if I liked aspects of TC a lot. And it blows WISH the fuck away, IMO... but then, so did WMS and BF, IMO. :-)

    413 Dream is spectACular. :-)

  21. The SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM is a hell of song. I really do fucking love this album thus far, and I can't see its appeal fading with time. I can say almost for certain that the vinyl will share the same sound issues as the CD, as the band no doubt recorded straight to digital and likely created the master LP off the same mix as the CD, though I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

  22. The Scream is my favorite track so far! When I got into The Cure, The Head on the Door had just been released. And so I had the joy of getting all of the other albums at the same time :) The Scream could be from Pornography or The Top, easily.. it is so amazing and my favorite... and a new song??? Amaze me now!

This album is a return to greatness, ala Cure greatness. Original, multi-demensional and RICH... it's so rich with emotion and musical arrangement. I'm in love (and it's not even Friday!!!)And I can't stop listening to it... and every time the album sounds better. I'm thrilled... I haven't been this thrilled since Disintegration... or the 1st time I heard Pornography... or Faith... and I LOVE Freakshow... (it's on right now as I type... I love the way Robert's voice sounds and I love the arrangement of the song - so so catchy and just... fabulous... I don't know how I will feel in a few months, if the excitement will settle down or what... but I could, at this point, see this album becoming one of my favorite Cure albums - right up there with Disintegration. :)

    It's such a strong album.

Thank you Robert, et. al. :)
