I feel like the Forrest Gump of the technology world... if there is a way to get it from my DVR onto/into some other format for upload I would do it in a flash.
I actually just got the new High Def Box with the DVR Recorder, I dont have a standalone DVD recorder. Would I be able to do anything with a Macbook or other laptop that has a DVD recorder/burner?
depending on whether or not your video card has it, you might have a DVI input or something on your computer. and you'll probably have an S-Video output on your DVR and A/V outputs (red, white, and yellow). And you'd need a program to receive the stream into your computer and a program to capture the stream to your hard drive.
andy don't get too excited yet although the dvd plays perfectly when i copy the vob files to my hard drive and play them they seem to skip about 15 seconds in. don't have any more time to play today, i have to go home then go see Sisters of Mercy tonite so don't expect anything til tomorrow. If anyone else can do it fster than this, go for it. Cheers, Steve
steve - maybe don't rip them to VOB, see if you can rip it to AVI using FairUse Wizard 2. Time consuming but the rips are great. I'll gladly e-mail it to you when you have the time.
If you have a MacBook, you can capture from your DVR via firewire. All you need is a utility from Apple's Developer site called DVHSCap. It's part of the Firewire SDK: http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers/download/index.html
You can then use MPEG Streamclip to convert to MPEG-4 or a variety of other formats.
no need for a different tracker, someone just e-mail Dime the info it needs to lift the ban.
Insufficient information. Venue? State? Country?
Send the requested details to dimemods@dimeadozen.org with torrent #220423 in the subject line. Upon receipt and review the ban may be lifted and you can resume here.
Thank you Andy, but we do have to hear from the torrent's uploader.
You can send them a PM with the details you found and ask him to contact the moderators. As soon has we have heard from the uploader and verified that everything's in order we'll lift the ban.
I tried sending the Dime mods an e-mail with all the necessary info, but they need to hear from YOU.
here's what I sent them, it should be sufficient.
E-mail the following to dimemods@dimeadozen.org with torrent #220423 in the subject line.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- The info necessary is the following:
The Cure:4Play Live in Charlotte June 16th, 2008 - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA (Bobcats Arena) as part of The Cure's 4Tour 2007-2008.
HDNet filmed the concert and broadcasted it on October 26th, 2008. They compressed it into an hour show instead of the complete 3 hour+ concert.
More details on the recording can be found at http://www.hd.net/concertseries.html
More details on the actual show can be found at http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ChainofFlowers/june1608.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please e-mail them promptly so we may all be able to watch the file you are sharing. Thank you.
megaupload thing wont work i type in the code wait 45 seconds and hit free download and it just realoads the page again anyone else having this problem?
Aaron - i'm glad to have the WMV since it was smaller and an easier download for me just to watch on my PC, but I'm waiting for the 5GB one so I can put it on a DVD for my collection.
It might have been during the other songs too, but DEFINITELY on Pictures of You, there's TOO MANY camera transitions it's pissing me off. Trying to enjoy a song/performance here and every 5 to 10 seconds they change to a different camera angle. I hope someone else agrees because it's just so ridiculous. Can you at least stay on one shot for 30 seconds? Please. The editing could have been better.
Hint to Robert, if you're making this 4Tour DVD, consider the above.
I can get a copy out to you I think, assuming that this DVD will play on a regular DVD player. Otherwise, I guess there's no point in me downloading and burning it.
Shoot me an e-mail at pasttense_78 at yahoo dot com if you need a copy.
So the file on Dime is 5.36 MBs? You can't put it on a DVD then, as capacity is 4.7 megs. Since it is one file DVD software will not burn it (well thats the experience I have had in the past with huge files).
My friend burned the gig onto a DVD for me but says it plays back at HALF screen size, but it is in the mail none the less.
So for this megaload site, do you have to be a member?
OK it finally worked. Likely in a few days a 4.x MB VOB version will end up on DIME.
BTW I finally got a DIME acct after 5 months of trying (about 3 weeks ago).
Anyone else download these videos: 96 Rio show 97 NYC show
The Rio show is quite long, 2 DVDs worth. I have only watched a bit so far, but the interview with the Brazilian MTV guy is funny, as Robert is basically melting in the summer Rio heat/humidity.
Also, the 1990 Leipzig concert recording is quite good too (FM radio broadcast).
Hello, I am the seeder of the Cure HDNET file on Dime. And after reading alot of these comments I am planning on seeding a regular DVD of this show in Standard Definition for those who do not have any other means of playing HD files. It will have interactive menus etc.
Okay.....I'll handle the standard DVD when that gets uploaded. Anyone who wants one, just send me a blank DVD-R and shipping costs. I have a high speed, stand alone burner, and it's no problem at all.
DJ and Cat - I am downloading from Dime - 46% at the moment. I should be able to have a standard def DVD by the weekend. If you still need the DVD by then, just let me know.
I will also work on the Rome show this weekend and have it transcoded from PAL to NTSC.
Rob - I was so glad when I found the Rio concert on Dime, as I used to have that concert on VHS! It got lost when I moved to America. I actually went to the concert in São Paulo, a few days before the one in Rio.
Just watched it, pretty cool. One thing that stuck out in my mind was how unfinished It's Over was lyrically. I really think Robert finished up that tune after the tour. Watch Charlotte and then Rome, it's startling!
Regardless, happy to watch it, thanks to all who helped it happen.
Thanks to all of the Cure peeps out there who were able to get this show up on-line! :)
I finally got to download this yesterday & I watched it last night! Great show, just too bad they didn't show the whole thing! And I agree with andy, too many changing camera angles. I get's a bit distracting to watch but still I loved it. :)
I've got it sitting on my DVR as we speak...
ReplyDeleteCan you upload it somewhere?
ReplyDeleteI feel like the Forrest Gump of the technology world... if there is a way to get it from my DVR onto/into some other format for upload I would do it in a flash.

ReplyDeleteMy original plan was to take this, and compress it using DVD 2 One so that it'll fit on a regular DVD. Will it play that way? I really have no idea.
