Play.com has updated their release date for 4:13 Dream, and now have it scheduled for Nov. 24th. Big mistake? Or another delay? I'm sure Robert will give us the answer soon. : ) (Thanks Chris)
Update: All of the other stores I checked, still have the Oct. 27th/28th release date.
Update 2: Everyone I've checked with says the album is still listed for late October.
Update 3: Play has changed their date back to Oct. 27th. Thanks for the needless worries, Play. : )

If this happens, then it's official: This release will be one of the most ridiculous things in the music industry ever, second only to Guns 'n Roses infamous "next" album!!! I mean... Come on!!!
ReplyDeleteSince 4:13 is being previewed in only 5 days I really doubt this is real. It's a mistake.
ReplyDeleteI can´t even think in another delay.......¡¡¡¡¡¡
ReplyDeleteThat would be an unprecedent awful event ever ¡¡¡¡
I think today we´ll get the answer for that.
:/
Oh no.
ReplyDelete*waves to PJW*
ReplyDeleteMaybe they could retitle the album Chinese Dream, and have Axl at the helm.
Waaaahhhhhhaaaaaaaa!
ReplyDeleteIf it happens (which I don't think it will) I just might gonna crack this time. I am holding back tears with the slightest rumor.
Thanks for ruining my Monday morning Craig :)
There will be Blood.....
ReplyDeletecpg, darlin', i don't think there's gonna be anymore delays. i think it's a misprint or something.
ReplyDelete*Waves back to Cat*
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to have withdrawal symptoms for something I haven't heard yet? Because I appear to be going pre-emptively cold turkey over not hearing UTS when I thought I was going to!
It may have something to do with the fact they have to play in Rome... Hope not... and what's with the Oct 27/28 release?!?? I thought they were keeping their 13th theme going... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI too call mistake. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice monocle day.
o_q
you know, i stopped listening to UTS quite a while ago, so that it could sound somewhat fresh to my ears when i do hear it again. i am very hopeful that the studio version is not mucked up by bad production. but yes, i agree with you pjw - i am starting to have withdrawal symptoms. but you've heard the live versions of UTS, right? UTS has the potential to be one of the most transcendently lush cure songs ever - in fact, let me just say it IS that, even if the studio verion is not what it could be. those heavy layered guitars contrasted with the whispering vocals, all evoking a timeless scene... i NEED this song, it's as though it was already inscribed in my psyche and it's just now emerging...
ReplyDeleteActually a delay works out perfectly for me, as I'm still busy and haven't even listened to all of "In Rainbows". Just as long as it's the best it can be, Robert!
ReplyDelete*sigh*
ReplyDeleteAs I've said to you elsewhere today, Cat, I worry that UTS could be a huge let down. The way Without You was mixed gave me hope, though.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Muldfeld: I guess I can gird my loins a little longer if the end result is as good as it could be.
Thanks for the monicle, Hynreck. Needed that!
Or even the monOcle.
ReplyDeletewho cares at this point?
ReplyDeleteAnother delay would be ridicoulus. They will present the new record next saturday..so, anyone will know all the songs the day after.
ReplyDelete..and considering the MTV as a promotion event..maybe the only one. Could have a sense to release the record one month and half later?
NO, i think.
MK:
ReplyDeleteAbout monocles!??
You Sir, of all things, should care!!!
...see what I did there?
Lol Muldfeld, just getting around to In Rainbows? Dang, you MUST be busy. Maybe after you're done with In Rainbows you can check out Abbey Road by this band called The Beatles, it's a pretty good album.
ReplyDeleteSorry, just gotta give you a hard time. :)
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThere's also that Rolling Stones thing that's making some noise. But I haven't had the time to check it out. So many bands, so little time.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost sure we will all be disapointed by the new album anyway.
ReplyDeleteit's certainly always delayed because it is not so good. Except The perfect Boy, all other singles were not good Cure songs. And even UTS, if you really listen, has nothing exceptionnal in it, I mean in a musical point of view. Cure used to have fantastic lines of bass and kiling guitar riffs, now it's not like this anymore. it's just sound and mix.
Well, franck, I seriously don't think I'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI got a good feeling about this.
But then again I'm a good Cure customer, easy to please...
But it's all the better for me, right?
A man with a bald head and wooden leg has been invited to a fancy dress party. He doesn't know what costume to wear to hide his head and his leg so he writes to a fancy dress company to explain his problem. A few days later he receives a parcel with a note.
ReplyDelete"Dear Sir, please find enclosed a pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and with your wooden leg you'll look just right as a pirate."
The man thinks this is a terrible idea because they have just emphasised his wooden leg, so he writes a pretty rude letter of complaint. A few days pass and he receives another parcel and note.
"Dear Sir, sorry about our previous suggestion. Please find enclosed a monk's costume. The long robe will cover your wooden leg, and with your bald head you will really look the part."
Now the man is really annoyed since they have gone from emphasising his wooden leg to his bald head, so he writes a very rude letter of complaint. The next day he receives a small parcel with a note inside.
"Dear Sir, please find enclosed a tin of golden syrup. Pour the tin of golden syrup over your bald head, stick your wooden leg up your ass and go as a toffee apple."
that's a great attitude to have, franck. you're almost sure to hate it, then.
ReplyDelete"4:13 Dream delayed?"
ReplyDeleteAt first glance that title almost gave me a heart-attack! Seems to be very likely that it's just a mistake though, so no worries.
I think by this point, if there was another complete balls up Robert would have told us so pretty sharpish!
sa serais bien apprécier si il aurait quelqu'un qui connaît un site qu'on pourrais écouter juste les extais du nouvelle album !!
ReplyDeletethe new CD is not in the AEC database which is a bad sign for release in October...i guess RS will let us know soon.
ReplyDeleteVery lol Swifty.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you get when you are hard to please/eternally unsatisfied!!
Cheers!
franck, the new album is going to have awesome guitar riffs and bass.... have you SEEN Porl Thompson on the guitar this year?!?!? he plays SO AWESOME lk he doesn't even have to think about anything, he just plays. and Simon, he still has it! all of the new stuff that i have seen/heard is awesome!! so get into the cure spirit and get pumped about the album!!! :)
ReplyDeletewhy should we try to placate cynics? the cure fanbase abounds with them. it's time they moved on.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee you all that I will love the new album just as I have the previous 12...and all the singles...and all the b-sides...and the live albums ...and the bootlegs...and the tribute albums. I know this because I am insidiously addicted to The Cure and have been for 2 decades.
ReplyDeleteAnybody want another joke?
I'm addicted too, so I know what you mean. But I see this as a good addiction, of course.
ReplyDeleteGo on for jokes, I don't mind!
IMO Underneath the stars has one of the best guitar riffs I've heard in the last few years. It's an asskicking song and if the studio cut is as good as the Live one it's going to be the best Cure-Album Opening Track ever!!! The Perfect Boy has a great guitar too, so has Without You. And just have a listen to Baby Rag Dog Book/It's Over... this is going to be the best Cure Rock Song ever. I'm sure loads of Cure-Fans will love 4:13 Dream, no matter when it will be released.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Cat....
ReplyDeleteExactly!
Franck, your comment might be more appreciated by this guy editor@exberliner.com. I hear he has a review of 4:13 that you might like to read. You two should be great friends. ~PEACE~
Sara...I agree. Porl has returned with a HUGE sparkle in his eye that generates electricity through his fingers and down through his guitar. He's got some riffs that come from the soul. I'm not afraid of the studio recording of UTS....not at all. It's a beautiful creation and it's got imagination and talent stemming from each instrumental sound, and the vocals......well lets just say they rock my girly parts. And who the fuck cares IF IT IS better live? Um, there really is nothing more fantastic than The Cure in concert and UTS live is the epiphony of what makes The Cure so great. It is EPIC!!!! In another month, this blog will be filled with even more posts about UTS and if it measures up or not. Either way......if you don't care for the studio recording there is always the MSG FUSE recording on youtube which is now a classic Cure performance we will remember for years.
Whenever I see written hynreckandjoe I think "go go go". Does anybody else find that?
ReplyDeleteno, you're the only one.
ReplyDeleteat this rate, i won't have enough money to buy the album no matter when it comes out...
yes, I'm the perfect boy
ReplyDeleteSing bird sing...

ReplyDeleteHey Hynreck- here's another.
ReplyDeleteWhile trying to escape through Pakistan Osama Bin-Laden found a bottle in the sand and picked it up. Suddenly a female genie rose from the bottle and with a smile said,"Master, may I grant you one wish?"
"You ignorant, unworthy daughter of a dog!Don't you know who I am? I don't need any common woman giving me anything!"he shouted.
The shocked genie said "Please, I must grant you a wish or I will be returned to that bottle forever"
Osama thought a moment. then grumbled about the impertinence of the woman and said,"Very well, I want to awaken with three American women in my bed in the morning. So just do it and be off with you!"
The annoyed genie said, "So be it!" and disappeared.
The next morning Bin Laden woke up in bed with....
Lorena Bobbitt, Tonya Harding, and Hillary Clinton.
His penis was gone, his knees were broken and he had no health insurance.
LMFAO!!
ReplyDeleteSwifty, that was a good one. haha!
Did Hillary had a SNUKE up her...?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering.
South Park reference...
ReplyDeletesorry for the confusion!
It's cool, Todd. I'm actually holding it out as a treat for when I finish. I've heard most of "In Rainbows" -- just not my potentially favorite tracks, based on the 2006 tour, of Arpeggi and Videotape and most of Reckoner.
ReplyDelete:)
:D
ReplyDeleteswifty! another!
Franck you might not be a bit optimistic
ReplyDeleteAlready this delay is not super you we break the morale
Fortunately, Swifty is there to tell us some jokes !!!!!!
Notherbob, it was the record company's decision not to release anything except the first single on the 13th of its' release month, not Robert's.
ReplyDeleteswifty, thats awfully dirty! i had no idea you were like that :O
ReplyDeletethat's not what they taught us in school..
Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
ReplyDeleteINGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
DIRECTIONS
1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Mmmmmmmmm. I've just made some of your pancakes Morris. They were tasty delicious. I did add some carrots, basil, and a touch of garlic. Really economical and easy to make. I think next time I'll add cream. Yummy yummy yummy !!!
ReplyDeleteThankyou Morris!
Hey Sophie, as you requested.
ReplyDeleteDJ look away now.

'Y'know', said the Scotsman, 'I still prefer the pubs back home. In Glasgow there's a little bar called McTavish's. Now the landlord there goes out of his way for the locals so much that when you buy four drinks he will buy the fifth drink for you.'
'Well', said the Englishman,'At my local,The Black Bull, the barman there will buy you your third drink after you buy the first two!'
'Ahhh, that's nothing', said the Irishman.'Back home in Dublin there's Ryan's Bar. Now the moment you set foot in the place they'll buy you a drink, then another, all the drinks you like. Then when you've had enough drinks they'll take you upstairs and see that you get laid. All on the house.'
The Englishman and Scotsman immediately scoffed at these claims, but the Irishman insisted that every word was true. 'Well', said the Englihman,'Did this actually happen to you?'
'Not me meself, personally, no', said the Irishman,'But it did happen to my sister'.
Oops, Sofia!!
ReplyDeleteLOL swifty!!!! good one!
ReplyDeleteplay.com has changed the date to october 27th :D
ReplyDeleteFunny one.
ReplyDeleteAnd good thing about play thing.
this thread needs even more madness. cheer me up, yo. :-)
ReplyDeleteThree baseball fans were on their way to a game when one noticed a foot sticking out of the bushes by the side of the road.
ReplyDeleteThey stopped and discovered a nude female dead drunk. Out of respect and propriety, the Cubs fan took off his cap and placed it over her right breast. The Red Sox fan took off his cap and placed it over her left breast. Following their lead, the Yankees fan took off his cap and placed it over her crotch.
The police were called and when the officer arrived, he conducted his inspection. First, he lifted up the Cubs cap, replaced it, then jotted down some notes. Next, he lifted up the Sox cap, replaced it, then wrote down some more notes. The officer then lifted the Yankees cap, replaced it, then lifted it again, replaced it, lifted it a third time, and replaced it one last time.
The Yankee fan was getting upset and finally asked,"What are you, a pervert or something? Why do you keep lifting and looking, lifting and looking?"
"Well", said the officer."I am simply surprised. Normally when I look under a Yankees hat, I find an asshole!"
lol

ReplyDeleteThree plastic surgeons were playing golf together and one of them said,"I'm the best plastic surgeon in Texas. A concert pianist lost seven fingers in an accident. I re-attached them...eight months later he performed in concert with the New Philharmonic."
One of the others said,"That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in an accident. I re-attached them, and two years later, he won gold medals in five field events in the Olympics."
The third surgeon said,"You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a cowboy who was high on cocaine and alcohol rode a horse head-on into a train travelling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the horses ass and a cowboy hat. Now he's president of the United States!
LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL
LOL
Anything anti-Bush is just fine by moi.
Any Palin jokes circulating yet?
:-)
"Oprah Winfrey's in the middle of a big scandal, because she is refusing to have Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show. The friction started because Palin said if she's elected, she'll be the most powerful woman in the country. And Oprah said, 'The hell you will!'" -Conan O'Brien

One more Bush joke 4 u
ReplyDeleteAir Force One arrives at Heathrow and President Bush strides to a warm and dignified reception from the Queen.
They are driven in a 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London where they change to a magnificent 17th century carriage hitched to six white horses.
They continue on towards Buckingham Palace, waving to the thousands of cheering Britons.
Suddenly, the right rear horse lets fly with the most earth- shattering fart ever heard in the British Empire. The fart shakes the coach. The smell is atrocious!
Both passengers in the carriage must use perfume-dipped handkerchiefs over their nose, but the two dignitaries of state do their best to ignore the incident.
The Queen turns to President Bush saying,'Mr President, please accept my regrets. I'm sure you understand there are some things that even a Queen cannot control.'
Bush, with his usual diplomatic aplomb, replied,'Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought. Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses.'
this is what happens when there is another delay speculated - the thread runs amok with tactless jokes at the expense of politicians!
ReplyDeletenot that they don't abundantly merit shameless mockery...
SO TIRED
ReplyDeleteTIRED OF WAITING
TIRED OF WAITING FOR DREAM 4:13
THE CURE KEEPA ME WAITING
ALL OF THE TIME
WHAT CAN I DO?
well...um..tell jokes..yeah..uh ha..mmmm bye 4 now
Hey, it's Franck speaking.
ReplyDeleteI was not saying that The Cure werent good at all.
Just said that since Wish, they put the feelings more into voices and writings than in music as they used too. And no one really can say that the music they make now is as more as original as before. This dont make it bad anyway because Robert himslef can make a perfect song without the need of music.
But I do prefer the old stuff when it was really weird bass tune, magic chords and lol playing (yes i like the way lol played, it was different....)
So I m not pessimistic but we all so wait for so long anh have so high hope, that like always, it will (might?) disapoint us.
Sorry to have an opinion different from the main stream here and sorry for my english.
Franck/olive
You got the right to your opinion, Franck, no prob there.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that high hope, hype, waiting for so long for something so desirable can be a curse in itself.
We often set ourself for disappointement, let's face it.
All that said, I still got a positive feeling about this album. I don't think The Cure's been in a better shape in a long while.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletefranck, i am sorry if i jumped on you - just that i am amazed that some people have hung on so long after wish if they so dislike everything that comes after. i for one love all cure albums to varying degrees and indeed count wms and bf as among my favorites, along with early cure and hotd.
ReplyDeletethe cure have never lost one damn thing as far as i am concerned. they have evolved beautifully. sure, they have some shit songs, but they've had that all along, imo.
anyway, that's my sychophantic rabid cure fan rant for the week- take or leave it, sukaz!
Glad this was just a mistake! I don't think I could stand another delay!
ReplyDeleteFunny jokes swifty!!! LOL!
