  10. I know we all have a variety of musical tastes, but seeing the photo from Andy standing a bit behind a guy with a Metallica jacket on just made me chuckle!.. Really, Metallica?

  31. Hmm, maybe it's just me, but I found them to be a bit flat tonight. Not much energy. Interesting new look for Martin. : )

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hmm...that's not good! But now I want to stay tuned just to see MLG's new look. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. When will they drop these boring live drums and just go to tape?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't remember Martin ever looking like this.

  35. Just got home. What a blast. 3 people who camped since midnight were taken to the front. One of the guys I saw at the Troubadour show. Very cool. 1iota told me they let in 8,000 people (there were more). Fantastic. Entire crowd waving their arms just like at Rosebowl.

  36. V: Don't listen to me. I just hoped for more. But please don't let Sandra see this performance! ; )

  37. Cureheart: How were Peace and Come Back?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I was with Brad at the rail. VIP had a huge section at the front, then cameras, then us. Yes, if it was Cure show, I would have cried being that far back. Rae was right behind me. I also saw Bryce and Brian Soto at then end of show. This was a very smart marketing plan.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Heartland: I think it was a bad hair day for Mart. : )

    ReplyDelete
  40. Peace and Come Back were beautiful and Brad knew every word. Dave wanted the crowd to sing, but not everyone knows the words like Brad!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Craig, I actually dig that new look. It's certainly more interesting than that chicken hat he wore on the last tour. It's only the "generous" eyeliner that I'm not too crazy about. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Maree! Please upload your recording as soon as you can! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, I just have to get used to the new do. : )

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oooh, we slowpokes in Mountain time will get to see it in just a few! :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Martin aside, Dave looks HOT!

  46. After being there I kind of realized just how spoiled we are. I kind of think if The Cure were to do something like that we would get more than 6 songs. Don’t get me wrong they were great but I realize that I was thinking in my head the whole time that The Cure would have done more for something that huge. Also it was a little disappointing to be so far back. The section I was in was I believe the first section they opened up for 1iota tickets. I don’t imagine The Cure making us ever be that far back even when there is VIP involved. So many people and obviously so much work in putting the whole thing together and yet 6 songs. I know we were not promised anymore than that but I did think maybe he would surprise us.

Cureheart I did not see Maggie. Was she able to get a better spot or am I just blind?

    ReplyDelete
  47. MissCure - Maggie was on the rail to your right. The regular JK show does the same amount of songs, but I'm sure with it closing down Hollywood Blvd. and the amount of people hired (police, workers, etc.) they couldn't go on any longer. The cost of this alone was pretty big. But an excellent marketing plan to kick off their tour. I'm just dreading going to the Pearl again after what happened with The Cure. I didn't think we would end up that far back either, but it's a free show and it was good to hear them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cureheart: Definitely agreed! Free show and a great marketing plan for sure. Yeah the cost must have been huge. We always wish for more huh? =)

I didn't pay attention to the time they actually ended. Was it like 9pm exactly. I was wondering if that had something to do with like the residencies too.

  49. Craig I figured in case someone wanted to see DM on Jimmy’s show on TV last night but didn’t stay up to watch it like me (too late on the east coast)here are two links to Jimmy’s Youtube page. It's just the songs not the entire TV show.

And I agree Marty’s hair looked terrible.
