ReplyDeleteV: Ha! You're right! : )
ReplyDeleteAs usual, smart girl. ; )
LIVECAST of course!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a disrespect conduct of the Coachella Crew, why did they have to cut off the power ??
ReplyDeleteRobert was so happy playing maybe cause he was celebrating his 50th birthday never the less they let him finish his awesome performance
I hate Paul Tollet !! Bastard
If so, thank you guys
ReplyDeleteit's morning here, and you're going to sleep ? in US, right?

Awesome if you guys got the entire webcast!! Def. a keeper.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will get it compressed and uploaded asap, it will take a while, so before I do that I will upload the ending to YouTube, still will take about a half hour or so, so...

ReplyDeletethank you for your time devoted to this.
Thank you, lovecat44.
ReplyDeletethank you sooo much Maree for recording & uploading :)
ReplyDeleteI was there. Couldn't update on my phone. Insane end to a show. This was my 11th Cure show and I have never, ever seen anything like the end of this show. Robert & Co. just didn't give a fuck about the curfew. It was awesome. The PA system was cut off during BDC. We sang it for Robert! We could just hear the drums and the guitars from the monitors on stage. Then we all sang Jumping as well (have to admit that I didn't know all the lyrics but I was trying my best.) Then he started another song which I now know was Grinding Halt, but at that point the video screens were cut and then they cut the monitors. Robert kept playing it for a bit and then gave up. Epic! Too bad they cut the power. I think he was going to come back for a Faith encore after the old school one! At least we were hoping in my area.
ReplyDeleteCoolest thing about the gig? We were standing right next to Amanda Palmer, who was singing along to every word. She was super nice and super fun to rock out to The Cure with (and her set yesterday was badass.)
Good night. No real surprises in the setlist for me, but UTS was gorgeous. POY was delightful. And I don't think I've ever seen TIB live before. Good show! (and yes, WAY better than May 2, 2004 at Coachella.)
Here's the link for the "Grinding Halt": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUSBXxaP8r8 though it is "Not yet processed."
ReplyDeleteIt's live now. I will get the rest up as soon as I can. I will get a good quality version and an audio only one up on bittorrent asap also (prob sometime tomorrow). Night everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe reason it seems the power wasn't cut was because the big speakers were pulled first so festival couldn't hear them, at that point all you could hear were from onstage monitors, that is probably why the webcast still had sound, then during Grinding Halt monitors were cut.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Maree. Thank you again!
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Maree
ReplyDeletethank for uploading
on torrent, and then probably someone will get it on rapidshare or something. cant use torrents
sleep well!
It's so late, and we have far to travel in the morning but I have to say just a few things about tonight - they pulled the plug on the big speakers first so you could barely hear the Cure play. That was during Boys Don't Cry. The crowd sang along to the whole song anyway. They turned off the big video screen during Boys Don't Cry but the Cure kept on playing and we kept on singing. Then when they started JSET we sang along as well. When they finally cut power to their monitors during Grinding Halt, that's when they quit. We have video from the crowd of all this, I am so sorry that I won't be able to upload it all before we get home. We have a long drive ahead of us, but I will get everything we have up online just as soon as I can when we get back home. I am SO glad we came to Coachella and that was the most punk, hardcore thing I've seen them do. It was brilliant and I love the Cure so much for what they did on Friday and tonight. Both shows were excellent and well worth the trip. I spoke to both Darren and Keith afterward and Darren promised that he would give it to Robert as soon as possible. So it is in safe hands and I am confident of it's destination. Long live the Cure and thanks a million once again to Craig and all the CoF peeps that make these shows so special to attend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heron for your message,
ReplyDeletehave a safe drive home and a pecaeful journey.
Can't wait to see your videos, but now please get enough sleep, you deserve it!
Thanks for everything!!
Heron: Thank you so much for the reports! Have a safe journey home.
ReplyDeleteHa! I just read all the reports and saw the video. How awesome was that! Porl and Simon even kissed during JSET.
ReplyDeleteThe Cure turned it up to 11 and rocked it till Coachella couldn't take anymore.
This probably sounds logical to me because I wish it would happen, I would've be overly surprised if they do some kind of show before going home. Robert didn't get to finish either of these two the way they were planned and it wouldn't make sense for him to go home right away. Does anyone know when they're supposed to go back home?
ReplyDeleteDid anyone capture the internet broadcast?
ReplyDeleteYes, Maree got the whole webcast and will have it online in a day or 2.
ReplyDeletePlainsong70: Yes, Maree has it. She has already posted the end of the show on youtube. Check the front page.
ReplyDeleteOk guys, this is an awesome beginning of the day
ReplyDeletenow I'm just going to face this day, it cant be bad, with such a morning

ReplyDeleteHello, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI crashed early last night. First thing that I did when I arrived to work this morning was read this thread!
What an amazing show last night! The power pull thing in Coachella will be legendary.
I am so glad that I was at least at the Vegas show!
Yay!
OMFG! AMAZING SHOW! Just got back to Vegas, cell died of heat exhaustion....trying to upload some vids but going slowly. So glad I decided to go even though I wasn't feeling well. Could have done without all the hippies peeing in front of me...other than that it was an awesome experience.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys made it to your hotel safely or home! Jayne, Cat, Chris, Crystal, Andy, Matt, Rev/Sean, Debi and Regina!...til next time!
Thanks everyone who reported from this Festival! I do so hope they play some more shows. Incredible.

Thanks to the Cure for always kickin ass!
those were great clips , guys !
ReplyDeleteLONG LIVE THE CURE!
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled that all those wonderful people I met got to see Sunday's show. Brilliant weekend. I too made the wrong gamble that the Vegas show would be better than Coachella, but was thoroughly happy with what we got in Vegas. Very glad I made the trip. Hope to meet many more of you at the MANY SHOWS TO COME **crossing fingers and toes***

ReplyDeletewe missed you sofia!
ReplyDeleteI saw us up on the screens but didn't realize we made the webcast too--yep that was me and Debi and we along with Maggie who was on the other side of the stage spent ALL DAY there yesterday to get those spots. It was worth every drop of sweat and sore muscle too.
ReplyDeleteI tried asking Robert (with gestures) about his hand during "Push" but I don't know if I got my point across since he could only see me and not hear me. Still you gotta try, right?
I finally got a chance to read all of this. Sounds like everyone had a fun night at the show or on the COF. And it hard to believe Coachella was the better of the two shows even with the plug being pulled. Punk Rock ending for sure! Sucks the festival people had to end it that way but damn the band play on! Go to love The Cure!
ReplyDeleteToo bad I missed it but something came up and I couldn't get on-line Sunday Night. I doubt I would have been able to make it to the end of the show! It was on way too late, well if you live on the East Coast it was!
