  3. As I just said on youtube.. That was awesome... I have been a fan of The Cure since I was 15 (therefore for just over half of my life) and I feel like I am rediscovering them all over again... just another sign of how awesome they really are!!! Great sound in the video and I loved seeing Robert in the spotlight walking off stage at the end... thanks for posting the link!

I am from Sydney Australia and cherish every trip they make to Australia... am loving seeing how the tour is going in the US...

I love the version of Happy Birthday Robert sang to Simon almost 30 years ago... had to listen to it again yesterday!

  4. YES!!
@ robsmithlipstick: i also had to think about this old happy birthday version. it's on a very old tape i call my own. do you know on which concert it was taped? thanks a lot.

  5. Sorry, no idea... I had it on a tape for ages and then found a cd called 'Alternative Medicine' that had that song and 'All I had to do was Kill her'... on it.. among a lot of other less obvious Cure songs (most of which I think have since been on the Join the Dots releases)... do you know that song also? I love that too!

  6. yeah.. the hole tape is kind of strange.. nearly every song has a unusual tempo.. and lyric variations. primary for example includes lyrics about colours... i would love to know the date of the show.. i think my tape isn't complete..

  7. I am sure nothing is mentioned about when/where it was recorded on the cd but will check on the weekend when I am able to get to it again... the taped version I had I know seemed cut off also so perhaps that was how the original was recorded.. what a difference the cameras/phones and you tube make today... think of all of the extra songs/footage we could have been able to see...

  8. That's really great - thanks for the link. It's so amazing how fast you are - yesterday you provided the audio version and we are able to watch it!!!

  9. I remember seeing The Cure play "Faith" as the last encore on the Prayer Tour, in '89. It ended with Robert alone on stage, playing and singing until all that was left to him was stay there in silence and face the crowd for one last time...

It always seems like a special moment in time, this song.

  10. this is so right... youtube and stuff is very cool, but in some ways i miss the old days when i went to conventions surching for livetapes and stuff. ahh... faith is defnitely my favourit livesong .. i saw it only two times.. in oberhausen 2000 and on the zillo festival 2002.. very moving. by the way. i've got a collection of faith versions played live.. i think i must have got about 40 or 50 different versions.. most of them out of 2000, where Robert doesn't do additional lyrics every time.. but the prayer tour versions kick ass.. all of them.. so if anybody likes to trade just give a note.

  11. To be honest... 'The Drowning Man' I think would have to be my favourite song... though Faith is definitely one of my favourites.. have only seen them play four times and only seen Faith played once.. (and they played The Drowning Man before it!!)...
I also agree re: the searching for rare and obscure stuff... just isn't as satisfying when it is so readily available on the net... but I do like that I get access to things that would never be available in Australia... gotta go to bed unfortunately! Have been visiting this site for years and this is the first time I have left comments... I love how much more interactive the site is now...

  12. i'm sorry.. my english is very rusty.. i didn't mean "trade".. i don't want to earn money by that or whatever.. i thought of the word "change"?? "exchange"... ??? ... "trade off".. i hope everybody knows what i tried to say.. nothing bad.. seriously.

  13. that is also my point.. it's cool to search in the internet finding lots of videos, shows, interviews and so on.. but 15 years ago you went to conventions.. find some really rare pieces.. spend lots of money (ok.. this is something, i really don't miss) and went back home to listen to it.. the feeling was soo... i don't know.. different.. it's getting kind of cheesy, hä? nevermind..

  17. I hate people that can't keep still during a show. Dancing is one thing, moving around talking and going for beer after beer is another. Those are not hardcore fans for sure.
Can't wait to watch this at home!
Also, I think the song All I had to do is kill her (or somethin) is titled Forever (and it's many version) 2 of which are available now on the remasters.

  18. I have All I had to do is kill her on boot, but it sounds different to me than Forever and I think it´s from another period .

Do you know the taping where RS shouts and argues with the audience? (Of course you do) Man, was he pissed. He hated talking people too these days.
