  4. Brian: Great that you got a chance to meet Tony! He always seemed like a really nice guy. Glad to hear that he is.
Too bad the reunion rumor was false. Guess we have to wait until next year.

  5. I just read the OC Register review. For starters, the reviewer is a wanker for splitting so quickly after the main set was over. Second, they must have had pretty low expectations for the band to have considered the main set to be good. Well, to be fair, I guess that Robert's voice was the only bad thing about it, but it's such a major part of their sound that when he's off, it brings down the whole performance. Seriously, I want to know what the heck was wrong with Robert. Does anyone know yet?

  6. I'm Back at the Youtube encoding after a short dinner break :) Gotta tell you that Porl KILLED wrong Number. So much so that it might be my new favorite song...at least for today!

  8. I think I'm a bit late but I can't let this go without my comment. Just saw the video and...

Honestly, it was one of the worst Cure concerts I've seen. Awful. Just awful.

Jason, can you just leave? Or let a drum machine play your parts live?

  9. yes yes, many here agree.

Everyone has bad days... it just sucks that they had to go through this, what with being veterans and all that...

LOL poor Jason. I think he needs to step up his technical skill goddamit. Porl and Simon totally carried the show towards the end...!

  10. Anyone else notice that Robert seems to have a problem with his left (fret) hand? I first noticed it back when they played 4:13 Dream live in Spain (he let go of his guitar and winced, shaking his hand). Now he seems to hold the guitar differently sometimes (underhand grip?). Maybe he has arthritis or something.

  11. Being too drunk or stoned is no excuse (anymore), I bet he was in worse "mental" conditions in other times but these shows were very good - sometimes excellent.

He could manage it until Lullaby I think. After TPB, it went downhill. Badly.

There was a certain song (can't remember which) where Jason did nothing but hit cymbals and hihats, all the beat was "not human". He might be a nice guy (I bet he is) but as a drummer...

  12. Thanks to Marc for the uploads and to Craig as always for the links.

Thought POY and Lullaby were great, TPB was very lacklustre and then it stayed low key until ID. A Forest sounded very "old skool." It was like another band came out for the encore. Robert must have taken something for his voice..???...!!!
