    Phoenix people... I was able to get a flight on Southwest today, total cost RT $120 into Burbank. A little cheaper into LAX, but a real pain in the ass to get from there to the venue.

    Can anyone tell me at what time usually concerts start at the RAH and how long do you think it takes to travel fom Heathrow to the venue? I am afraid it's quite long and I can't arrive in time for the start of the show.

    RAH is in south kensington so the tube takes maby 30mins from heathrow. you have to walk a bit from the station to rah.

    @Fabien G Concerts usually have to finish by about 11 or 11:30 max in London pretty much... so I presume it'd start at 7 or 8.

    Tube takes 39 minutes on the piccadilly line from Heathrow (it calls at all terminals) to South Kensington, and you can walk from there (15-20 mins). So I'd give it at least an hour connection time, and even then you'd be cutting it fine.

    Fab G...the easiest way for you ,if money no object, is to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington(every 15 mins at 10-25-40-55mns past the hour) then take the circle line to High Street Kensington..which is a 5/6 minutes walk fromn RAH..

    Went to both Sydney shows, wake up this morning to this news, realise I will be in LA and NYC for at least one show in each city. This year is insane.

    Joel and I are going to try for NYC. We will be training in from DC.

    For visitors: For many, the NYC transit system is a good option to use. Choose a hotel near a subway station, rather than proximity to the Beacon, and you could save some money.

    "Best bet to get tickets:

    LA: 11/23 show. Why because everyone is traveling for Thanksgiving, or already has other commitments.

    NY: 11/27 show. Most people have travel plans already for Sunday, they will be trying to get tickets for Fri or Sat night.

    I think 11/21, 11/22, 11/25, 11/26 are going to be difficult to get tickets.

    And do not bother calling Ticketmaster, lol, by the time an operator picks up the phone it will be sold out. Ticketmaster online."

    Fabien G - The show starts at 7:30PM according to the RAH website.

    Lara - That is an amazing coincidence! Definitely a sign that you were meant to go to the shows. : )

    I hope that Joel and I can make it - we are going to do everything we can to get to at least one NYC show. Even if I have to use crutches!

    Los Angeles: Already booked a room at the motel 6 which is 15 mins. walking distance from the venue. $66.49. Also found a subway route from the bus station to the motel, 20 min commute. So ready!!

    Man, the Los Angeles shows look to be the much cheaper and easier option, but my heart is set on having the full NYC holiday experience, along with The Cure shows, so no turning back now.

    RAH accomodations: the Copthorne Tara is an excellent hotel w/ VERY reasonable rates for this posh part of town. The rooms are acceptable by U.S. standards and the best part is, ITS A COMFORTABLE WALK TO RAH & Kensington tube (1 block)... I stay here exclusively when visiting bloody ol'London!

    I'll go to NY to have a Cure weekend :)
    Just booked my flight and now looking for a hotel.
    I'm all stressed already about the tickets!!! (the price, the f*** chairs, the best seats on the brokers web sites at a very expensive price, etc, etc)
    A general admission floor (standing) would make things SO much easier and better for most of the cure fans..right?
    I know it's crazy (they love chairs in usa which is lame!), but let me dream with the possibility.

    Drowning_man you mean Stansted..Again.. it's all a money no object thing.. but Heathrow is your best option(though your flights will be more expensive)..Don't know where you're flying from but i flew Ryan Air once and swore i'd never do it again..Stansted airport is a 45 minutes journey by train to Liverpool Street, then add another 30/35 minutes on the tube to High street Kensington...read my post above re landing at Heathrow, hope it helps..JC

    Some good websites for you to try when you're planning for flights, hotels etc:

    www.laterooms.com (hotels)

    www.tripadvisor.com or co.uk (hotel reviews / comparison)

    www.skyscanner.net (flight comparison)

    www.walkit.com - urban route guide - will help to plan journey too and from RAH on foot)

    www.tfl.gov.uk (All London Transport links)

    www.londontown.com (restaurants, events, nightlife, hotels etc)

    Hope that helps any of you coming over to the UK. Tripadvisor and Laterooms are excellent for US hotels. Skyscanner is by far the best flight comparison site that I have found.

    Krlos07, I found the Hollywood Motel 6, but it's $72 bucks/night. Not bad though, especially compared to NYC. I think I'll be booking that one for a couple nights.

    Don't forget the megabus! Check the website (just typie megabus into google) to see if it picks up near you! I've used it three times before when I lived in England last year and got to London from York in North Yorkshire for like £5! It's very reliable. :)

    hey I got my Motel 6 hotel room on Hollywood Blvd. They have plenty and are $66 dollars and within walking distance to Pantages.
