Cure on PS3 Vidzone

"The Playstation 3 Vidzone service launched last night (free music videos on demand in Europe) and it seems to be stocked quite well with Cure videos. Started the day with a bit of Gone, Primary, The Blood (I have never seen this video before! why is it not on any video compilations? was it not released in the UK? Nope, only in Spain - Craig), Mint Car, and then Dear Prudence (Siouxsie only has 3 tracks up at the moment very poor compared to the Cure's 20). There are a few labels not signed up yet by the looks of things - no Depeche Mode at all, but I would assume that will change and expand quickly." (Thanks Chris)

  3. I would also like some clarification about this "The Blood" video

  4. I think, and could be wrong, that the video was made for the Spanish market, when The Blood was released as a single over there. I don't know if the band approved it or were involved at all, might have been something put together by the label.

  5. Ah, I figured Hispacure would have the answer:

"Single was promoted in Spain by means of an exclusive video also realised in our country. It is for that reason that this video is not available in any of the compilations in video and DVD published by Fiction, since he is exclusive of the channels of promotion in Spain. Given to the marked Spanish influence of the song, led by rasgeos of guitar and castanets, he was inevitable that the video (atribuído to the British director of videos and announcements Gérard de Thame) would make a wink to the flamenco dance"

  6. The Blood video isn't official, like it was said earlier, but Universal has it up on their youtube page. Basically it isn't official, but it was official for spanish promotion, haha.

  9. Totally odd video. Good dancers, but I can't possibly see how RS would've been involved in a video such as that. Videos that don't feature band members usually really bother me, though. The sacreligious aspect of the song is very much emphasized, when RS has said it wasn't about that at all. I'm not sure whether I like it or hate it. It's just ... odd.

  10. The Blood "Spain project" ended up being shelfed by Fiction, but a limited(around 400) and now very sought after single was pressed, b/w Six different ways and a totally original cover..

  11. During this TV interview for french TV in 1986(http://www.impressionofsounds.com/1986-TV19.html), RS introduced the video, saying it was a good video, but said that the director,Gerard De Thame "must have a personality crisis" or something like that...

This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions.

If anyone has a bit of free time on their hands, could you please grab it with www.keepvid.com (the .mp4 option) and throw the mp4 file into my email box?

  18. The Blood video was available on iTunes in Japan awhile back, but I think they may have dropped it when they upgraded to iTunes Plus.

TMU also sells it through their online stores in several countries, but in DRM-laden Windows Media.
