CoF meetup for Vegas

"Since it's getting closer to the day, I think we should try to do a CoF meetup before the Pearl show. Since the casino won't allow line-ups before 6:30, I think that the CoF meet should be in the Buffet Bistro at the Palms, which is VERY conveniently close (as in, next to the box office close) of the Pearl. You can check it out on the casino map here. What do you all think about gathering to do a vegas-style CoF gathering, starting at say, 1 pm?

This way, we can loiter with a purpose, without "officially" lining up, and yet still keep an eye on the theater entrance etc. in case what happened at the Troubadour repeats itself." (Thanks Heron)

    Very cool & it's great idea rev! I would love to be there if I was going to Vegas. I really want to meet the COF peeps! Oh I hate to miss this but maybe next time if The Cure plans any more shows. Come to the East Coast guys! Please!!!

    Im there. eating at the buffet for 5 hours. mmmm pie.

    Troubador- we got there the night before. no line ups. but we did it anyhow. I grabbed a marker and had steph and Midnight number everyones hands. then they RE lined us up. but luckly the grouchy man listen to us when we told him that we already put numbers on our hands. so he was like ok kewl. then line up according to your numbers. they gave us all wristbands. then told us all to leave. then later that night they told us all to go across the street. ready. set. GO. mad rush to the line. didnt matter what number you had at that point. sucked.

    Oh screw it. I just went ahead and bought my concert ticket for the 4/17 show.

    I'll just have to talk my new boss into letting me work half a day...I'll still be able to land in Vegas by 4:00.

    If he says no, I'll have a ticket for sale soon. :)

    Hello CoF people please look for me at the all you can eat 5-hour buffet. I'll be wearing a t-shirt that says PAUL K.
    Well, now that I think about that I realize I don't have a t-shirt like that, so, just imagine what I might look like based on the messages I've posted on this website and then project that onto the people walking around and then approach random people and ask them if they are Paul K. It will give you something to do while you are getting loaded at the buffet for 5 hours. LOL!!!

    So, people you don't need to be stressing out about lining up or whatever just to get on the floor. It's no big deal really you show up with your ticket and they let you in it's guaranteed in the Constitution, don't worry!

    damn it!!! my outfit is all ruined!!! :P

    im going to try and get to the 5 hr buff-it around 4 or so. i want to go explore the night before and dont plan on going to bed before sunrise!

    I am quite sure what happened at the Troubadour won't happen since these were pre-bought tickets. I think everyone is worrying too much about other groups, etc. We're all here for the same reason: to see The Cure play. It's a small venue, and everyone will have a good seat, and the pit will be fine.

    Had I known about Vegas before purchasing my Coachella ticket, I'd would have definitely planned on this! Kind of bummed about it, but nonetheless, I will be at Coachella Sunday night! I would love to meet some of you, so is there anyway we can meet up there too! Such a large event, not sure if it is possible, but maybe like 4:21 stage left??

    vikrob09---Don't feel so bad if you can't make it. You won't be the only COF fan who will not be able to go! But I do hope you can get someone to watch your kids for you!

    So, has anyone confirmed the camera policy for the show? I see on the Pearl's website that nothing is allowed. But, I also know that the band has input on the policy.

    Kate, they probably won't know about the camera policy until a week before the show. During the 4tour I e-mailed guest services for the shows I went to and was usually given a "well let you know the week of the show". The Cure have a pretty loose policy, so I'd imagine it will trump The Pearl's. My guess, pocket cameras will be okay, Pro cams will not be.

    i will be there -- can't wait for the show!

    it was April 9th, 1989 I first saw them play on the Prayer tour. I never would have believed then that 20 years (and a week!) later i would be seeing them play yet again. Here's hoping for the obscure setlist!!
