This was the first cure CD that I ever got. I purchased it from Columbia House (back when they existed) and I got it because it was nominated for best alternative. I had never heard of Robert Smith and the guys, never heard of disintegration, never felt the emotional pull of "faith." For that reason bloodflowers to me will always be one of my favorites, after hear watching me fall for the first time I was hooked immediately. Bloodflowers got me to go to Coconut Music the next day and get the parts of their catalog that I could not get on Columbia House. For me bloodflowers is and always will be a life defining moment, where I began to find and appreciate music for what it was. Bloodflowers was also the cd I listened to when I found out my grandma had died, and it works perfectly.
The last great record by The Cure. A solid effort with no horrible attempts at a pop song. It's the only album after Disintegration where I do not skip any songs while playing it.
Bloodflowers is a great album with a bunch of incredible song:ootw, tini, ldos, bloodflowers. WMS and The Cure are good records too,but with the wrong tracklist. If we change it and pick the besides of that period, we have two beautiful album. The only record that I never listen to is 4.13...obviously with the exeption of uts.
Always understated in my opinion...
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't they playing any of Bloodflowers songs lately?
