'Kiss Me' & 'Blue Sunshine' colored vinyl for RSD

We've had a hint from Steven Severin, and a couple of listings, but it now looks like we're one step closer to getting confirmation that 'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me' & 'Blue Sunshine' will get the individually numbered & colored vinyl treatment for Record Store Day 2013 on April 20th, 2013.

This comes from a list put together by Wax Poetic, and then posted on other blogs.
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me Individually Numbered, Red Vinyl LP
Glove Blue Sunshine Individually Numbered, Blue colored LP
(Thanks Beatle)

Update: Slicing Up Eyeballs has articles about 'Kiss Me' and 'Blue Sunshine', and Wax Poetic says both of these are confirmed for US release. and will most likely be available in the UK, too, though that is not confirmed yet.

Update (03/21/13): Official lists are coming out. 'Kiss Me' and 'Blue Sunshine' officially confirmed for the US, UK, Germany, France, Belgium, and Netherlands.

Update (04/20/13): Just bumping this up so you don't forget. Let me know where you find them. :)

  1. hey...thanks for posting to my blog....FYI, these 2 releases are CONFIRMED for the US, and most likely will also be available for the UK too (not yet confirmed, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't. If you need any other details (tracklisting, etc.), let me know.

    2. Actually, only need the track list for Kiss Me, as Slicing Up Eyeballs has the info on Blue Sunshine. Thanks again.

  2. Damn...the list of records I am going to buy this RSD gets bigger every day. I wish they would turn KMKMKM into a 3 - 4 180 gram LP release with all the B sides on 45. As a collector of vinyl, it's the right thing to do. For those that have KMKMKM on vinyl, the original pressings were extremely flimsy, probably less than 120 grams and a proper re-release is way overdue....now, the question is "are these the remastered tracks pressed on vinyl for the first time?". Good stuff regardless!

  4. I seriously doubt that these will be different from the cd releases a few years back. It is likely they will have more detail than the 16 bit cd (since they are likely cut from high rez sources used for the deluxe remasters). All in all... if you are not a collector, I would probably just stick with an original pressing of Kiss Me (my original Kiss Me lp sounds really good).

  5. Who cares about this? When are we going to get some new Cure music?

    1. Given the general body of output over the last decade...

Sorry to say it, but I'll take the reissues.. my old vinyls are getting played out & I'd like to preserve the few nice original pressings that I have.

  6. Last RSD they released 3IB - Top. Seems weird to skip HOTD....

    1. HOTD was already released by Back To Black in 2008. these remastered lps are one of the worst jobs i've ever heard, especially last year's coloured ones. very noisy and the remastering is pretty bad as well so i'll buy them for my collection and 'cos they look cool, but i will always listen to original pressings, nothing is gonna sound as good as that.

    2. It was the limited coloured vinyls that I was referring to...

  7. So...does this confirm anywhere that The Glove is going to be the Robert Smith vocals? I don't see any info on the sites about it, but I'm guessing so!

    1. I'm guessing not, actually. It's a single LP with the original tracklisting and no hype sticker stating anything different.

  8. colored vinyl is the worst quality to hear any release. this just a money grab. they should release something exclusive for record store day. releases like this are clutter, and they don't entice people to visit a record store, which is the point of record store day. these are two of my favorite albums (well, the RS vocal of the glove that is), but I need only look to what REM is doing for record store day to see an example of how it should be--a record store day exclusive. I suppose it could be worse, it could be Morrissey changing the covers on his singles and calling it a day. YAWN. I expect more from my favorite band, that's all. A live recording, a new remix, a home demo not included in the reissues, a practice session, anything but press what we already have on colored vinyl!

  9. How about a CD single with Just One Kiss, the original extended version, and a great live version from last year's tour? THAT would get me in the store the moment it opened.

  10. is there any way i can get those? i mean, i live in ARG.

  11. Emilia,

I believe stores are allowed to sell RSD albums online beginning on Sunday, 4/21 (a perfect day to buy Cure vinyl! :) so you should be able to find them online. I know one of the record stores in Seattle received 15 copies of KM3 so I'm guessing they should be somewhat available after RSD.

  12. Got my Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me here in Canada today! (I didn't see The Glove at either shop I went to; it will probably arrive with a later shipment, as stores seem to never get everything they order for RSD in time for the actual RSD).

Anyway, the vinyl sounded great. My ears aren't good enough to confirm if it's the remastered version or not, but what I heard sounded really clear and pristine (I bounced around from track to track). If someone wants to give me a real easy way to look for the difference, I'll give it another go later and report back.

I also noticed a fair amount of skips, even though I couldn't see any scratches anywhere; I simply ran my cleaning brush over those sections a few times and the skips went away. So, if anyone gets one today and thinks they've got a dud, just do your best to sweep away any invisible blockages and you should be fine :)

  17. Hot update: A friend just got his copy of KMKMKM (#320) from Hot Stuff Record Shop (http://www.hotstuff.se/) in Älmhult, Sweden. The lovely 2LP shall soon travel to the Czech Republic where it is going to make one Curehead - Cur(e)rently residing in Prague - happy. End of message.
