So unbelievably stupid and wrong, that I had to post on the main page. Nick Carter (from the Backstreet Boys) starts his show with an instrumental cover of 'Plainsong'. I now demand that Robert Smith enter the stage in a spacesuit for this song. Maybe even get special rigging so he can "fly" in. :)
(Thanks, I think, to Steven for finding this)

nothing bad really, maybe he's a fan. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Wow! Yeah, he's a huge Cure fan. From his Biography:
DeleteFAVE SONG: I Will Always Love You (The Cure)
: P
LOL! I was just about to leave a comment alluding to this!
DeleteHah, I'd love to see that song for real, with Robert doing a Whitney Houston impression.
DeleteIt could have been Robert's next collaboration! Maybe a little studio magic can make it happen. We know Nick would buy it. :)

DeleteHad never heard of him before .. and after seeing this, I decided I would keep on ignoring who he is :o)
ReplyDeleteVery wise! He's one of the Backstreet Boys.
Deleteoh yes the Backstreet Boys.. heard that name before... but still not enough to make me change my mind :op
DeleteDoes he sing in another band called "the Backstreet Goths"?
ReplyDeleteWhen I red "Nick performing "Just One Kiss"" as one of the next video suggestions, I thought for a moment, I was loosing everythign I ever believed in. But was not the same Just One Kiss. So conception of the world now is back from retirement. :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that too. No, that will never ever happen.
DeleteI thought the same :-)))
Deletecool, nick carter's drum on plainsong sounds way better than the cure's!
ReplyDeleteIt was not that bad..sounded decent (way better than the versions The Cure did without keyboard)
ReplyDeletehahah, interesting
ReplyDeleteI have to admit - that gave me a huge laugh!! I was sooooo worried he was going to SING and maybe dance!!! Thanks for posting. that was some funny shit! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it was a very nice version of Plainsong. The drums sound actually a lot better than in The Cure´s way of playing.

how on earth did someone spot this?
ReplyDeleteIs it worse than having Shakira as an inspired "musician" or seeing Victoria Beckam wearing a Cure hat ? Sorry those names make me sick. Let's go to the toilets...
ReplyDeleteThat was weird and turbo-cheesey. I feel like everything I knew to be true and good has been taken away from me and I need counselling.
ReplyDeleteWTF?
ReplyDeleteThat is all I have to say, lol.
Look forward to Robert coming on dressed as a spaceman for the next gig and Reeeves and Simon standing by ready to receive his salute, then launching into Backstreet's Back. Alright!
ReplyDeleteGaaaaaaah, this is just so incredibly wrong. There just aren't enough words to describe how much.
ReplyDeleteUhhhhhh...
ReplyDeleteKate, you didn't say "Thanks!" !!! :)
ReplyDeleteSpeechless, actually. :)
