The Dark Album - No recent news about the next album, or when it will be released. The band are no longer signed with Geffen, and there is no word yet on where they will end up next.

Live Shows/Tours - As of mid-December, there has been no talk of any live shows or tours in the near future.

Remastered CDs - Disintegration is scheduled to be released on Feb. 16th, 2010 (US) as a 3 CD deluxe edition, a single CD, and double vinyl. Track list and more info at TheCure.com.

Remember when videos seemed to have something to do with the song? The lyrics to this song and the video just do not mesh. Video is well made, song is one of the worst DM ever. And I love everything they do!

I think the video perfectly depicts a struggle for personal, internal peace and complements the lyrics quite well. I always took this song to be more a hopeful mantra for someone who is still seeking peace ("...peace will come to me, it's inevitability..."), than the triumphant declaration of someone who has already achieved it. The girl in the video is clearly in the throes of personal struggle, and to me, the song represents the hope that she clings to as she endures each disappointing and grueling day of her existence.

Maybe I have spent too much thinking about this, but that's just the way I see it... :)

I agree V. There is a lot to the vid. What I don't care for is the constant looping of the title. I know it's standard DM to sing the title over and over and over, but it gets old. I know they are capable of more.

Cureheart: Ah, but the repetition is what made me liken it to a mantra. :) I think it is repetitive by design.

Then again, this just may be another case of me reading too much into things. :) Who knows.
