The Kiss Live

And at the absolute polar opposite end of the spectrum...THIS is THE KISS live in Berlin on Feb. 16th. Fantastic!

  1. The Kiss in Berlin was actually the climax of the three concerts I have seen this year (Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin) which otherwise were quite pop and boring!

  2. Hmm, first time i've ever heard Plainsong, Disintegration, Prayers For Rain, Drowning Man, One Hundred Years, To Wish Impossible Things, and If Only Tonight We Could Sleep as, "quite pop and boring" - but each to their own.

Cheers for sharing this video, for me it presents the sheer raw power and tightness of The Cure 2008.

  4. I'm the first anonymous...
The concert in Berlin was the less pop, but for me songs such as alt.end, The Walk, The End of the World, Please Project, Push, Inbetween Days, Never Enough, Wrong Number, Signal To Noise, Let's Go To Bed, Freak Show, Close to Me, Why Can't I Be You... are pop. Ok the Cure are this too, and I love most of their music. But I've see them more than 20 times and I'd never seen such a repetition of the same songs for all concerts in a tour! And only 3 of the news ones! Ok, maybe it's me who has changed and grown too old :-)

  8. They played Big Hand in Sydney and Mexico City. It hasn't been played during the European leg of the tour.

  9. Am I the only one who thought it was pretty bad?

Jason still has not learned how to play the drums. He ruins so many of the songs, it's ridiculous. I wish I understood why Robert has kept him all those years. But I'm also grateful, because it made me realize that Robert is not God after all. ;-)

  10. Let me add. Jason's performance was bad. And if out of four band members one is awful, the overall sound suffers badly.

  11. Jason is a good drum player, do you play the drums??? He has taken the quality of the music of the band to a higher level! Maybe it's not the same dark style as it was before, and this I regret too, but he can do some nice stuff!

  12. Hmm. This doesn't sound as good as when they played it at Inland Invasion. Maybe it was because I was right there in the pit and I've never been that close.

I knew we were in for something special when Robert rolled up the sleeve of his shirt before beginning. Roger was taking his entire hand and just slamming the keyboard in certain parts of the song. It was a lot of fun.

The Kiss is a fantastic song.

  13. I'm the guy who previously commented on Jason being a crap drummer. Yes, I am a drummer myself.

It does not have anything to do with a "dark style" (what's that supposed to mean when it comes to playing the drums anyways???!!!); he is simply a crap drummer who is not in charge of things.

With all due respect, but you claiming that he "has taken the quality of the music of the band to a higher level" shows how deep your understanding of music - or lack thereof - goes.

And yes, Chad: THE KISS is a fantastic song. When it is played right. ;-)
