Ok, that is pretty bad...I love the song, and loved when it was worked into Why Can't I Be You at some shows in 1996, but this is just bizarre.....

ReplyDeleteWhy cant they use a little bit of kayboard.. it doest have to be all or nothing.. you know. Saw them in Sthlm. And after more then 2 hours your getting pretty tired of Porls wish guitar sounds.. But the concert was still great

The new line up dropped the keys AND the Fender Bass VI!!! Some songs sound really "thin" without it.

It seeems like Porl is playing the melody, but we can't hear him on the video, and Bob is just doing "n'importe quoi" on top of that... I could be mistaking of course. Anyway, i think it looks and sound hilarious :)

ReplyDeleteI was there and I liked it! neither did they try to create a perfect rendition of the album version nor some "phantastic" alternative one - it was just fun. Robert said something before the song I didn't comprehend, something like 'its saturday but feels like friday'.
It was a nice surprise. And besides that it somehow captures for me the japanese whispers era: look at the "let's go to bed' video it might be the same "n'importe quoi'. you can't take it serious!
the only thing to blame is that i could'nt hear porl playing either! In too many songs he was barely audiable.
