Robert interview at HLN

Part 1 & Part 2 of an interview with Robert is posted at HLN. English translations here. (Thanks Vicky and Jeroen)

Update: Robert says this interview is NOT new. It's all from old interviews and the new stuff is made up. (Thanks Robert & Roger)

They also have polls to vote for Best Cure Album and Favorite Cure Song. 'Disintegration' & 'Charlotte Sometimes' for me. But only because 'Same Deep Water As You' isn't an option. : )

  2. So like me, you're doubting that Robert actually said that Goth Juice is "like monkey sperm"? : )

    1. It says "it looked like monkey sperm" in Dutch... (so it's not about the tase in case you're wondering :-))

Part 2 of the interview can be found here (in Dutch): http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/9093/Festivals-en-concerten/article/detail/1440236/2012/05/18/HLN-be-s-interview-met-Robert-Smith-deel-2.dhtml

I can provide a translation later on today or tomorrow if necessary.

  8. Just to clarify, ml68 & I were joking about the Google translation that I originally linked to, not Vicky's excellent translation.

  9. Isn't that one of the (many) things that make The Cure so great Craig, that they can make songs as poles apart in styles as The Same Deep Water and The Only One. Would have been a very boring 30 odd years if they had just stuck to the same formula. By the way had a look at the results (so far) for best album and song on the website, The Only One has one vote. Own up, it was you wasn't it.

  11. Has anybody heard the ska cover of Boys Don't Cry which is featured in 2013 Renault Duster commercial? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OPP7DFJoDk

    Robert gave permission for this?

  12. "new stuff is made up"? Well, I guess I can forget reading Part 2. It's cool of Robert to tell you, though.
