Rock in Roma "exclusive" set

So the Rock in Roma website says The Cure will be doing a nearly 3 hour "exclusive" set there, including "unreleased" songs. Maybe they mean b-sides?
Update: No, looks like it was just a bad translation. In fact, I'd ignore the whole thing. If there's going to be "exclusive" sets anywhere, I'm sure Robert will say something about it.

  1. Hi

no, it is not saying anything like that, it is just badly translated....just talks about 3 hours set, songs from 14 albums including the ones from Wish (20th anniversay)

    W. from Italy

  6. Don't worry Zap, they can always use the backing tracks for those missing guitar parts. ; )

  7. Hi Craig,
that would be a really good news indeed.

But what is written in the PR looks like a bounch of notes copied and pasted from what press said about Bestival (mentioned just erlier...) even though I guess Robert always prefer long sets (especially after Curiosa...)

Anyway good to see the band still doing their thing.

  9. Reeves is just a dream but who knows ? I'd love so much that Porl would be back. I thought about Teddy as well because Wish was a guitars driven album with sometimes 3 different lines but I think his relationship with Robert is no good enough to be asked for coming back. I was surprised by what he said last year in this crappy french Cure book. If he really did, his bitterness makes him forget how lucky and blessed he was to become a member as he was a roadie. Anyway I loved the BF line-up, and The Cure as a 6 pieces... I sign immediatly !

  10. What did Perry say, David? I think I missed that. I know he was very hurt by the way he was let go in 05.

  11. I'm not sure he said that as the book I'm talking about is terrible and I promise I'm not saying that because I wrote two ! There are several good books, especially 'Clinical prescriptions' if one don't like mines !
It's a fan who managed to get close to the band, I mean, close enough to attend a few after parties (Oh My God ! What a story !). It sounds like a gossip magazine and Perry is supposed to have said that Robert became bitter due to the lack of success (lack of success... come on !) and to the fact that he can't manage to reach the creative level he used to. I would have liked Perry to confirm, comment or deny this but I never found anything on the internet. I hope he will on day or at least exchanged with Robert because that guy was so cool that I can't imagine he'd have changed that way. I'm sure that some french fan visiting CoF could send you the precise text. I personally didn't want to invest in such a crap.

  12. I remember when he (Perry) was let go, and he was very gracious, saying he was lucky to have been a part of the cure for so long, or something like that. Roger was the bitter one, cuz he found out about the three piece online or something first.
but hes back, so you never know.
I do like how open the band sounded at bestival. Roger sounded great and had only played 2 other gigs, reflections.
Looking forward to youtube this summer. ha!

Craig,if you want i can try and revisit those pages and give you some quotes, but i remember the feeling David mentions...disbeleif that Perry would associate with this book(he didn't officially as far as i know).Give me a week or so...Can't beleive i managed to mention my mum in a Cure thread ah!:)
