  1. On the Fiction site:

    01 Apr | THE CURE
Offbeat - Sheffield's legendary leftfield indie night - The Cure Special on 1 Apr 2011
    04 Aug | THE CURE
The Cure on 4 Aug 2011 - CANCELLED
    08 Sep | THE CURE
    Bestival on 8 Sep 2011

    Did you know about Offbeat.
Was 4th Aug the Mexico date?

  2. No, the Aug. 4th thing was something in Ireland that a fan created on Last.fm. It was completely false. It was "cancelled" because it was never a real event.

Offbeat is not a Cure show. Just a "Cure night" in a club.

Do not take the stuff posted at Fiction as fact. : ) Simply a feed from Last.fm, which lists anything that anyone posts as a Cure event. I can go on there right now and say The Cure are playing 20 shows next week, and it would get posted at Fiction.

  3. The Cure have definetly cancelled the Sheffield night on the 1st of April(wink wink nudge nudge)...they are now playing in my bedroom...:)

  5. Seems like this copy is going for more than usual and it still has a couple days left. I've wanted this for ages but don't think i could spend more than $50 on a cassette.

  6. Thanks Craig.

It's weird then that 'someone' at Fiction takes any care in listing anything false. I don't understand the point...

That said, I was surprised to learn about the Offbeat night, I don't remember you informed us about it :)

  7. The seller must be getting rid of this before the Wish remaster comes out. I sold mine 2 years ago to someone in San Diego. £76 I got for it.

  8. I'm keeping my copy of Lost Wishes as a reminder of how indie labels used to function. I called Fiction Records to make sure it was still available, and the nice lady on the phone physically checked their inventory for me. (I guess some indies and artists still work that way. See: Amanda Palmer.) It was also very difficult to have a draft drawn in pounds sterling at a landlocked US bank. I made the mistake of having it made out to Fiction Records instead of the Portsmouth Down's Syndrome Trust. Fiction sorted it out.

  9. people are crazy. it is up over 100 pounds now. it's available online from multiple places for well under $100US if people look hard enough. I'm guessing the traffic the auction is getting from this page is helping out. it has over 1000 hits.

  10. Unusually high price, could be some fake bidding here, especially when you take into account the condition...A great Cure item for sure, but it does surface on Ebay fairly regularly...not worth anywhere near £100..

  12. @Fabien G

no one at fiction is posting anything false. they probably just found it easier to link their website to the last.fm dates so they wouldn't have to update themselves.

  13. i'm glad i'm not a heavy collector anymore. i couldn't care less if i don't have the cassette. i just downloaded hq audio files years ago, and i'm just fine with that.

  14. Thanks Lindsey,

but as I meant earlier, I don't see the point of having a 'show' section, if it's not for taking it right and accurate. It's not a blog, it's an official site. I simply don't understand it, cos it's completly pointless...
    A waste.
    Well...
I liked reading Trev story. The enveloppe I recieved had a nice stamp on it as well, not an automatic sticker, that was nice. At the time, you could order 2 tapes, which I did. I sold one 2-3 years ago (I cherish the one I kept) and it went for half the price which is indicated here today.

  15. I gave my second copy to my girlfriend at the time. I had two copies of Five Swing Live as well (#2 and #3--so close to #1!), and another girlfriend got #3.

  17. If anyone is interested my Wish EPK : VHS is on eBay...

I've listed it for $200 less than another which is on there at the moment..., only difference is I'm just selling the VHS and not the Wish CD with ltd edition packaging...

Perfect condition as you can see by the pic, it's been stored in a cupboard away from all light for 18 years, and I can honestly think of only about 4 times I've ever actually played the VHS in my video player...

Here's the link to mine :
