Update: Not that there was a realistic chance of them replacing them, but now it's official. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have filled the spot. (Thanks V)
Original story: The Decider lists The Cure amongst possible replacements for the Beastie Boys at the Austin City Limits festival. Just pure speculation, and very unlikely. (Thanks Monghi)
But just for fun, you can go here (picture #21) and vote for The Cure to be the replacement.

Beastie boy MCA has cancer and posted a youtube video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7CH3M7cECI. I wish him well and a fast recovery.

Yes, I posted that last week.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that's our Perry. : )
i just went through the entire list and clicked "no" for everyone but the cure - (and prince too - he is the sexiest little man! and puts on a great show!)
ReplyDeletei doubt i would go to austin for prince - but definitely for the cure!
but that is so sad about MCA. :(
I'm sorry to hear about MCA. The Beasties have been one of my favorite bands.
ReplyDeleteProbably unlikely that the Cure will win but I voted for them anyway. I went to an event at the ACL studios last year -- it would be an amazing place to see the Cure. But they're not as popular here as some of the others on the list.
Curespotting - a short article about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie renting out Miraval for their family retreat mentions The Cure recording KM3 there and quotes Robert.
