Rumor: Cure playing Las Vegas?

This might be a false alarm, but Pollstar has The Cure listed as playing the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas on April 17. Fingers crossed that this is true! (Thanks Chris)

Update: According to The Pearl box office, the show is booked and tickets will go on sale Saturday at 1pm. I would have posted this earlier, but I got the info while at the parades. : )

Update: No longer a rumor. This show has been officially confirmed.

  2. please let this be a sign that a tour is actually going to happen.

i am dying to see/hear them play material from the new album stateside.

  3. IF this is true, I would think it's much more likely to just be a "warm up" show for Coachella, not any indication of another US tour.

  4. yeah, i figured as much that its just a 'warm up' show.

still hoping for a proper tour for 4:13 Dream, though.

  9. hmmm... was the 4Tour not a proper tour?

  10. Andy why would I trick you???? I told you it was GOOD TO GO! :)

  11. i don't consider the 4Tour a proper tour for the album since only the singles were played, along with the album's opener/closer on select dates.

i was hoping to hear more of the album performed live.

  13. is it for the 4:09 Dream tour? soon to be followed with an April 2013 tour to be in fact the 4:13 Dream tour?

  20. Good news for those of us that don't want to deal with the Coachella crowds, a $300 ticket price, and a 90 min set list.

I'll go to this instead, pay $50, sit in a nice air conditioned theater, and probably get at least 2.5 - 3 hour set list since they are the only band.

  21. So, is it confirmed already ?

  23. No, I don't consider the 4Tour a proper tour because they left out Detroit from their schedule :P

Of course it was a proper tour, but it wasn't really promoting anything, other than a handful of new songs. The album had no title or tracklisting and wasn't even released until several months after the tour. I'd love another round of dates, with Detroit hopefully not being ignored.

  24. I am ON for Vegas for sure - anyone need a coachella tix for Sunday? I'll sell it for my cost! $119.

I can't do both for one its too expensive and TWO my husband would kill me if I left him with 4 kids to go to Cali and Vegas! LOL

  25. I hear you Kel,
i'm not even going to do the coachella gig and just spend the weekend in vegas.
Heat, crappy bands, hipsters, and all for a 2hr set, no thank you!!

  27. Wow that's great news for anyone who can make it! Have a wild weekend in Vegas to the COF peeps who will be in attendance. I'd love to go but my funds are low!!!

It sucks that once again the East Coast is being left out of The Cure fun. Come on Robert we don't bite that much over here! Lots of cool places to have a show too, how could you forget about the fans on this side of the country!!!

  28. Come on boys whats the point in half baking it? Do a proper tour with proper 3 hour sets and more than one date in the UK... Please?

  29. And come back to New Zealand....ha ha.....you know once is never enough! and I am a shameless plugger for NZ

  30. FYI, The Pearl holds 2500. That should make for a pretty intimate gig! :-)

  31. AND a very hard time getting tickets.

  32. Reminds me of the Roxy - Atlanta - 2000. Ahhh... sweet cure memories!

    ReplyDelete
  33. 2500? Sweet. I didnt even think it was that big.

  34. I just thought of something really trecherous you guys, so brace yourselves. Whilst the Cure are in this part of the country they could do something totally under-handed like do an unannounced show all of a sudden in L.A. or something. That would just be totally like them, what with their having no scruples.

Anyway I happen to be going to San Diego in the same week as that show so I'm now going to pretend that Vegas is on the way to San Diego!!! YAY!!! And I want to be standing in the pit! The pit mind you!

  35. You know, with Robert's 50th happening a few days after Coachella it wouldn't surprise me if another show gets added.
