  5. Shame they will never play the Promise again - great live song, incredibly visceral.

So it took four years for this to surface?

  6. Yeah. The Promise is one of those songs that is better live. For whatever reason, I always seem to skip it when the studio version comes up on the ipod.

I don't know. It just seems to go on forever! :)

  7. And wow - just watching it now - it's a great version. The studio version is plodding and not very dynamic - with better production, coulda been psychedelic magic.

  8. Thank you andy for this link. This was actually my first "cure" show, and it was the only one that me and my ex-wife went to together. It was a great show and I have alot of great memories from the trip, this will help me immortalize it.

  10. No problem guys, you guys do know there is a radio broadcast in mp3 of the show too, right?

but yeah, Dumb Anguish, i agree with you about the studio version of The Promise, but never heard it live, maybe i'd think differently.

  11. I prefer The Promise to Watching Me Fall. I really cannot listen to the studio version of that song at all. I just hate every second of it. (Sorry Bloodflowers fans :-( )

  12. nice craig!

that whole show was actually really awesome. especially cuz they did forever.

and i love the promise. and i love the cure now. but it's kind of almost weird to watch perry and roger rocking out and thinking about how they are not there anymore.

    ps:
if you ever need more space for hosting files i've lots.

  14. Don't worry Andrew, Bloodflowers is my favourite album, but I always skip Watching Me Fall. Ugh.

Also: my wife and I got engaged at this concert. I will mention this every time a discussion about this concert occurs here. You all have been warned ;) (during Pictures of You)

Also, also: around the time this video was first released, apparently somebody took this video footage, and mixed the video audio with mp3 audio to get a superior sound mix. I didn't get it because a) I hadn't figured out torrents yet, b) the people offering it made you jump through a few hoops as well, and c) I was happy enough with my 'regular' video memento :) Just wanted to throw this tidbit of info in to add to the lore.

  15. Who are these insolent scoundrels who don't like Watching Me Fall?!!

(I throw down the gauntlet, grab my boxing gloves and say in my best Apollo Creed imitation, "Get your hands up, son. Its time to go to school!!")

Just kidding. But I do like that song. :)

  16. I can understand why people like Bloodflowers but it doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. I like most of the individual tracks when they come up on shuffle but together...ugh... The lack of diversity in the sound causes the songs to sort of "mash" together so they loose their identity IMO.

  17. UM, Bloodflowers is the second best Cure album behind Faith. Period.
