Lol's 'Cured' PledgeMusic campaign

Update (Sept. 9th, 2016): Wow! After only 1 day, the campaign is already at 57% of his goal! Well done! And Lol says he will be announcing the exact dates and venues for the US tour on Monday.

Lots of rare and exclusive items in this campaign, so be sure to check it out! Also, notice that Pearl will be attending select 'Cured' events!

And the US book tour cities have been revealed! NYC, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Pasadena, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, and Dallas. More cities still to be announced.

From PledgeMusic:
"For the release of his new memoir Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys, Cure co-founder Lol Tolhurst teamed up with bandmate/graphic artist Pearl Thompson to create exclusive new artwork for 2 different versions of the book’s cover and an exclusive PledgeMusic range of Cured t-shirts, posters, pins and more….

Pearl’s original designs were utilized by LA-based craftsman Brennan Wheeler as the basis for limited-edition presentation art boxes. Each box contains signed copies of the book, and some rather special additional Cured items.

Most excitingly of all, Lol has also opened up his personal archive for the first time to sell some one-of-a-kind items of memorabilia straight to you, the world’s biggest Cure fans. All memorabilia will be accompanied by signed letters of authenticity and a photo of Lol with the item itself.

The proceeds from this PledgeMusic campaign go to fund The Cured Book Tour. Throughout a series of special events, Lol will read key passages from the book while surrounded by an immersive audio/visual backdrop, and also conduct a fan Q&A and signing session. On select dates, he will also be accompanied by Pearl Thompson and exhibitions of original artwork.

Follow this PledgeMusic campaign to be the first to get all the details of all the Cured book tour dates…"

    1. Oh come on! Cali gets 4 dates! That's too many already! :)

Just take a road trip. Make an adventure out of it.

Also, there might be more dates added.

    3. Dude, it's seven hours to Southern California, six of that on I-5 with nothing but fields and cow butts! A fun drive it is not. ;-)

    4. And Lol's son is here, but now I feel bad that Lol may endure six hours of California's finest methane if he drives north.

    5. Craig, a lot of people forget that California is the size of most of the eastern seaboard. I drove from here to LA for the Hollywood Bowl gigs, not sure I'll make the drive again.

  3. I wonder what may be in the mystery box. Would love if the person who bought it posted and let us know what they find inside

  4. I was expecting only one date in my local area but was pleasantly surprised to find that there will be a whopping 3 dates scattered throughout the region. Glad to see the 626 area included as it's often overlooked. Now that Barnes and Noble is gone, I wonder if the esteemed Vroman's on Colorado Blvd. will be the meeting place. It's a fantastic venue with great staff, storied past and most importantly easy parking...lol. I am completely unfamiliar with the business aspects of the publishing world...was a little shocked to find that book tours are not funded by some combination of the publishing house, author's advance, and/or (hopefully robust) future book sales, instead requiring supplemental funding or separate budget.
I was a bit saddened Lol is parting with some of his prized Cure paraphernalia to fund the tour, but it's likely his collection is vast and this represents just a drop in the bucket. On the plus side, the merch will be in the hands of diehard fans who probably would be hard pressed to find authentic, rare memorabilia elsewhere (eBay, for instance). Since these are coming direct from a founding member there's no questioning the provenance. I truly hope Cured will be flying off bookshelves come October and possibly make a bestseller list.

  5. Fans love Lol, and already he has definitely stopped drinking, so why Robert joins him the band again? LOL's contribution would be ideal for the next album.Gonna be cool !

    1. Sometimes it's rather difficult for someone in alcohol recovery to sometimes be around people who still drink..We know that members ofbthe band today still do ! It maybe a choice by Lol NOT to come back to The Cure because that life style dose not fit him anymore.

  7. I like when band members sell stuff. Nick from The Verve sold a bunch of stuff and made some cool videos and photos of him wrapping the items up for you.

We've all got a ton of stuff in the cupboard we never look at or need, band members included!

  10. Can't believe the UK Gold Records for both Faith and Seventeen Seconds are still up, if I hadn't already blown my budget I would be all over those! And those framed 17 Seconds badges are super cool! Get on those guys, can't wait for that handmade Super Deluxe Box to arrive!
