"The Cure are set to deliver some of their largest
sets ever seen by Australian fans, kicking off with their appearance at
Splendour in the Grass this weekend. The set lists have proven to be
extensive, with recent shows on the band’s world tour extending out to four encores, with the song count exceeding 30.
With such a large and beloved back catalogue of music behind them,
these gigs are set to be a treat for any Cure fans on this side of the
globe and we can’t wait to see how their upcoming headline shows roll
out. While we twiddle our thumbs and wait for them to kick off however,
we’ve jumped down a YouTube rabbit hole and have been revisiting some of
our favourite videos from Robert Smith and co."
See their picks here. Note the criminal exclusion of the Charlotte Sometimes video! Seriously, I'm the only person who actually loves it. :)

Well it's not their best or most colourful....this from a band known for their videos!! But it's definitely better than a forezt...that Era 80-82 brought out my fave Cure style but the videos weren't their best until Pap came along

ReplyDeleteCharlotte Sometimes was the first video I saw from The Cure on MTV around 1985 or 1986.
ReplyDeleteIt will always be my favorite video and single. It tells a story that's what i like about it. Maybe other fans think it's horrible filmed but I really liked it. Still do.
Well... I didn't know Charlotte has Video. And I feel a bit upset about it now...
ReplyDeleteI really like the Charlotte Sometimes video...
ReplyDeleteI like the Charlotte Sometimes video, but it has nothing to do with the book!
ReplyDeleteI always thought the video for Catch was pretty amazing...from the Lullaby-esque beginning of the video with the dusty drums in a confined space, all the way to the very charming end when RS walks away in his signature high top sneakers...All of this set in an incredibly picturesque, unforgettable, and dreamy location...(sigh)
ReplyDelete(Though recent unspeakable events may have tarnished the images of paradise a bit 😞)
The video for Lovesong is boooooooring. Really, really boring. The Cure have made lots of fun videos. Lovesong should not be on the list.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Can't believe that Never Enough and WCIBY aren't on the list.
