    1. No, that got blocked by the band, but it did magically leak out, in pristine quality, on DVD soon after...

    2. It did, it also had a bonus show from 1979.

I also have a Rome 2008 show from the same publisher and the 2012 reading festival show.

  5. Wow Phil Thornalley! The band just hasn't been the same since he was replaced by that one guy.

  8. Sooooo... Laurence didn't play drums on The Hanging Garden this time? Because he did when I saw them in 1984.

  9. Wasn't Phil Thornalley part of Johnny Hates Jazz at some point ("Shattered Dreams" was fantastic...though I don't think Phil was part of that lineup)? Nice to "hear" from former band members (Andy). Looking forward to checking out the video when I get a chance.

    1. He also produced Torn by Natalie Imbruglia, featuring a certain bloke called Reeves on guitar I believe. A small world it is...

    2. I did hear about the Torn connection...is that really Reeves on guitar?? That's insane! I've loved that song ever since it came out back in '98(?)... can't help but feel a wistful melancholy every time I hear it...and the guitar part really drives home that feeling.

    3. And Shattered Dreams IS awesome, yeah. Gives me the same feeling as A Night Like This.

    4. I remember a time in the 80's when you couldn't turn on the radio and not hear this tune...one of the best "overplayed" songs of the era. It also didn't hurt that Clark Datchler was Hot Hot Hot!!! ...at least in his prime..LOL. Torn was one of the best overplayed songs of the '90's.

  10. If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't there a brief "rumor" earlier this year about the band playing in Scotland sometime next year? I remember there was a post months ago re: The Glove "reuniting"... actually a fan (or several fans) strolling the streets of Scotland and suddenly stopping upon seeing Severin and Smith.... sheer serendipity? (Pardon the alliteration!) 😄 The fan in the accompanying photo commented that he hadn't expected the photo to circulate around the web, then proceeded to mention that RS had indicated there would be a show in Scotland sometime in March 2017(?)
Not sure if anything out of RS's mouth is reliable.. he might've been buzzed... 😛haha.... j/k....I am very cure-ious to know if/when/where the band will be playing next year. If I knew they were playing at location x (not necessarily Scotland) maybe I could examine the feasibility of arranging next year's vacation plans around a Cure show... which under normal circumstances would be considered completely nuts, but seemingly perfectly normal, perfectly healthy behavior in the Curedom (Curingdom? - hi Harold! 😉) It's probably way too premature since RS himself likely doesn't yet know. I'm also probably getting way in over my head. LOL.

    1. Sometimes I wonder when some of you guys go off on these meticulous posts like this...who are you talking to ...like talking about your vacation plans..are you talking to yourself? Us? You don't know us....lol!!!!

    3. I have a tendency to go off on all kinds of crazy tangents... sometimes they inadvertently become very long winded ones...LOL. I wasn't really specifying or spelling out any vacation plans in particular, I was merely pointing out that it would be nice to have an idea of where the band might be playing to help facilitate (potential) advance planning, that's all.

As for the "audience"....this is obviously not face to face communication so it's not much different than talking to a brick wall, so to speak. As such I'm not really "talking" to or referring to any one particular entity as the concept of "audience" is rather nebulous... mostly just jotting down (or rather, tapping out) whatever is my head. Sometimes it might be a bit unfiltered..lol.

    4. You remind me of me when I was younger. I used to do the same thing.

  11. Is it me or ex-cure members seem to be releasing and re-releasing cure memories?
It makes it seem like they are A. trying to milk the tour for something. B. something big is about to happen. C. I am just imagining it......
You have Andy uploading the Glasgow show and Lol writing Cured.... it just seems strange to me.

  12. Lol would have been writing the book before this tour was announced, and his release date is more to do with Super Thursday (big publishing day ahead of Christmas) rather than milking the tour. Andy must be proud of what he was part of, and good for him!

    1. I would be proud as well if I shared time in the Cure.
It is just with the way 2016 is shaping up, it just has me worried...that's all.

    1. I know what you mean! The audience in Glasgow is glorious during some of the pan camera shots. Wish i was there, feels more cathartic like a group release when the whole audience rocks out.
