Backstage & 'Shake Dog Shake' at BottleRock

A very interesting look at The Cure before they take the stage at BottleRock.

    1. It definitely "California Cold". I was wearing jeans and a hoodie and was chilly. When they came on stage it was probably the mid 60's by the end of the night it was into the 50's.

  3. I'm really surprised that they don't do a prayer circle before going on stage. Freaking heathens. ;)

    1. You are living in New Orleans ? Right? We are traveling tomorrow to the US, first Washington than further to the south.
Any suggestions ? What not to miss in New Orleans? Any great recordstores in NOL ?

  6. The video is great but I do not understand why this is written in the info section of it:
'Is it true Robert Smith cancelled the meet and greet because Veronica Grey got married? Watch CBS Las Vegas June 5 World Environment Day 5:45am as she tells all'
    WTF? Ha ha, really weird.

    1. Yeah who the hell is Veronica Grey? Why do people keep mentioning this person in relation to The Cure?

  7. The beautiful girl who appears (filming) in the beginning of the song is Veronica Grey. But I guess everybody knows that.

    1. I didn't know her. But I'm sorry, I'm not a big fan of environmentalists... and surfers...

  8. I really don't get why this name "Veronica Grey" keeps cropping up everywhere?

  9. Veronica Grey is some sort of muse for musicians and apparently she has inspired The Cure to write about her. I'd like to know which songs are about her.

    3. I'd like to give Robert more credit than to think he'd ever write a song based on a Californian airhead. It really is everything he hates and despises.

  10. Interesting as Robert pushes the drummer. Who pushes him first. Didn't look friendly.

  11. Thanks for the reply Ronan, so she's been in the picture that long, hmmm.

  12. She a fantasist from what i see, borderline nutter. Anyone and their dog if they have enough money can buy POV access of bands, no big deal. She has no "special access" as far as i can see. She has defaced Robert's IMDB page to the point of concern. Amen for bodyguards, she just seems like a deluded superloon fangirl.

    1. I have no idea if she is who she claims to be or not but I think this video sums it all up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUAFWZlwV5Q
I think she really needs help. ASAP.

    2. Oh wow! Just when you think it can't get any worse... :/ Yep she is as wacko as i first thought. I hope the band's security are aware of her.

  13. Wow, I had no idea she was that much of a fruitcake! Surely that means Robert didn't write a song about her, I mean why would he?

  14. But here she gives us a really interesting backstage view of what is going on just before a show, a for me who had never had a meet and greet with the band or never bought a vip access ticket or whatever never made anything different than just going to see the band live like 99% of the usual fans, well, this is really great footage! Reminds me of the bits in Staring At The Sea and other compiltions video tapes. Really nice to see them shaking hands, Roger giving a kiss, Jason stretching, and so on, i really liked this. Now i would love to know what they are saying. Probably simple things like "it's so cold" or encouraging each other, whatever, but, once again, i would really love to know. Nut fan I am (does'nt make sense). So thanks to her for that.
