It's ironic that they said "getting in a tizz about the fade-outs" ... other than Purple Haze and Harold and Joe have the Cure ever recorded a song with a fade out? No album tracks that I can think of anyway.
not many as such, but they have a knack for fading out to one or two instruments; Faith, Untitled, All Cats Are Grey... those are off the top of my head. Probably others.
How about April 14. Ho-hum.. Still nothing official.. Wake me when this is all over, please. The announcement of Tom Bailey's return has been the highlight of 2014 thusfar.
One of the things I love about the Cure is that just about all of their songs have proper endings. Fade outs mean weak songwriting, as far as I'm concerned. (Jumping Someone Else's Train, Just One Kiss, Wrong Number, Harold & Joe and Purple Haze are the only ones I can think of).
To be fair I've seen RSX used quite a few times, it's no worse than people referring to him as fat Bob, (thanks Siouxsie) I've done it on a number of occasions.......
ARTISTS are above and beyond the understanding of human experience... love them, be grateful to them, and most of all, send them your love and gratitude...
This is some sort of performance art, right? You're not serious, or you? If so, you realize your "leader" would find your thoughts repugnant, right? Maybe read a few interviews.
I f**king despair... It amazes me how our society is keen to place artists on a pedestal and then proceed to scrutinize and criticize their every action... as if... I thought this was a fan site. Guess I was wrong.
7oren9you are the one who put robert smith on a pedestal this is a fan site but not everyone is from the robert smith can do no wrong brigade.like everyone else even he can make mistakes sometimes
I still enjoy observing how diverse our Cure fan base actually is. Anyway, the melodramatic tone has always been there. It is an almost required trait in order to be a convincing Cure fan.

DeleteTotally totally totally agree. One of the distinction points of The Cure are the proper endings.
DeleteI will only believe that there will be a new Cure album when I'm holding it in my hand (fingers crossed).
ReplyDeleteHappy, JPX? I blame you for this.
DeleteWho cares...they're artists - they can do what they want. ur just jealous that you are not RSX!
ReplyDeleteThe man's name is Robert Smith. RS. No X.

ReplyDeleteSorry but the brutal truth is that there are some humans that are SUPERIOR to the general population and RSX just happens to be one of them.
DeleteAnd remember.. it's not easy being a leader.

Delete"Please stop loving me, please stop loving me, I am none of these things..."
DeleteIs 7oren9 having a giggle Robert Smith is certainly not superior to anyone else.I've heard of a...kissing but that is taking to a whole new level

ReplyDeleteYes, it's a fan site for sensible, reasonable people. Not for sycophants and asskissers. Please take your nonsense to Facebook. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteMary, stop being reasonable and making sense! You're just jealous! And not a leader! And so inferior! :)
