Cure for Lollapaloza Chile 2013?

Perry Farrell posted this on Twitter last night, when asked about Robert/The Cure playing Lollapalooza Chicago this year: "No- I am going to call him about coming to Chile rt @nazor2:Perry, any chance we'll see Robert Smith at Lolla this year? I'm crying to know."

That would have to be for 2013, as the 2012 festival is this weekend. Interesting, but obviously not even close to being confirmed. (Thanks Consequence of Sound)

  1. Robert hasn't very fair with South America. He let people think The Cure could play there last year but nothing happened. They should tour Latin America and gigs would be like hurricanes.

  3. Guys and girls from SA, you should visit the official site and flood thousands of messages asking for a tour, at least a few gigs in big venues in Mexico, Monterrey, Sao Paulo, Rio, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Lima and Santiago. I mean, just 8 cities after the European festivals, come on Robert... Rehearsing for so few concerts ? I'd like to ask him for a Latin American leg and for Abigail's light show. Who wants to join me ? Craig, how could we plan it ? Maybe we could launch something on facebook as The Cure have something like 4 million registered friends : is it possible to send a message to all of them ?

  5. I agree with these sentiments. South America has been shafted, which is strange, considering the considerable fanbase that the band has down there.

  8. Shawn, I'd like to launch a kind of petition though a message that could be sent to facebook Cure friends. But I don't know if it's possible. I know that there are some internet sites where people come to ask an artist to play their town but it's not very "powerful". The idea would be to send a message to all of their facebook friends to create a big movement that may move Robert and invite him to play a few concerts in SA...

  10. Shawn, Maybe it's a bit naïve and stupid but The Cure's carreer is behind them, more behind than in front of them. So if they're a little chance that SA fans would attend a concert, I'd like to help them out. We're so lucky to live in Europe or US, you see what I mean ?

  11. @davidaftertherain Thanks very much for your intention! It feels so bad in a way when I know that Cure is touring, because I love them and I like them to be active and offering concerts, but on the other hand we are always waiting, eternally..to be taken into account

  13. Emilia, let's try to do something but we have to find a kind of "hacker" able to send to message to create a massive mobilization...
