Countdown to Bestival

Rob da Bank's Countdown to Bestival video blog for NME - Part 1, 2, 3,

The Cure's set time will be from 9:30PM - 12AM, according to Rob da Bank on the Sunday Best forum. (Thanks lovecat)

Photo of Robert stage art posted by @RobdaBank on Twitter. And this - "i take it The Cure wont be playing Prayers For Rain this weekend "

Rob talks to Retford Trader & Guardian: “I’ve been after The Cure for seven years so I was delighted when they finally gave in,” he admits. “They’re going to be playing two and a half hours on the Saturday night so cant wait for that. You’re getting two of the best back catalogues of any artists I can think of with The Cure and Bjork - so many hits and classic tracks, and with Bjork a lot of theatre.” (Thanks David)

For those looking to buy or sell tickets, Bestival asks that you only use Ticket Trust.

  1. Nobody knows for sure...I'm almost certain it wont be a 3-piece Robert/Simon/Jason line-up like some have suggested, since they're going to be playing 2 and half hours, they could never manage that as a 3 piece....well they wouldn't be able to play anything post-1982 that's for sure. There's a small chance Roger could be involved again, he's been giving out some mixed signals to questions on his twitter recently..but I would be surprised if he was part of the lineup. My best guess would be the usual Robert/Porl/Simon/Jason line-up, but who knows....

  6. After Roger & Craig's exchange last night, I think it's pretty certain that Roger won't be playing.

If I had to make a bet, I'd guess ADM is right. Rob, Porl, Simon, Jason are playing on Saturday. Which really, is pretty cool, when you look at the big picture. At this point in the band's life, any type of Cure concert is a treasure.

  7. Don't read anything into that, Monty. Just joking around. : )

  8. Haha, reading Roger's tweets makes me wanna tear my hair out sometimes...he says these things that make you think 'oh there must be something going on here' then he says something like 'i definitely do not have anymore plans with with the cure' and it sounds pretty convincing xD

Can’t see Porl playing, but reckon Roger will be or maybe Severin has leant al the keyboard parts...

  11. For sure an awful day here in London, but it's gonna get better (in the sense that it can't get much fxxxxg worse!!)Glad i'm only going for the day!

  12. Oh yeah never thought about Severin...there was rumours about him getting involved way back when Roger and Perry left, and with that interview with Robert saying something might be on the cards for the Glove...I'd still be GOBSMACKED if he was part of it though

  13. So would I, but I really like The Glove stuff & Robert stepped in to help the Banshees on a couple of occasions so would great to see him if Roger wasn't in the line-up, but can’t see it happening though.

Also looking forward to seeing PJ Harvey ‘Let England Shake’ is a sensational album.
