  1. I'm voting for a mashup of 2 classic songs...Silly Lovesongs. : )

  2. I think Robert's voice and Cure sound would be perfect for:

    "Let Me Roll It"

2nd Choice would be Robert solo:
    "Mull of Kintyre"

  3. I'm sure Band on the Run is out of the question, since Foo Fighters have pretty much nailed that, and Paul seems to love their version. I would think that has to be on the album.

  4. "Live and Let Die" - if any of his were made for the Cure, that's it.

  5. I hate Wings with a passion, but would vote for an old Beatles classic like 'Things We Said Today' or 'And I Love Her.'

  6. The album is only McCartney solo and Wings covers.

Heron: I see KISS is on the album, so I'm betting they do Live and Let Die. It has that typical KISS bombast. : )

  12. Lars' suggestion just got my heart. I'm already hearing it...

But if I could throw a little joke... Ivory and... Ivory? Or Say Say Say, even though it's too iconic, maybe - besides, they're duos, I don't know if it's the case.

  14. How very punk rock. Maccas kid probably needs the leg-up. I'm disappointed. What next? I dread to think.

  15. Shadow: Good thought about a duet. We don't know if James McCartney is just playing guitar on the track or actually singing with Robert.

  16. Three Smiths for the price of one!

The Cure to collaborate with Jaden and Willow Smith on covers of classic tunes from Dad's back catalogue. -The Snu

I hope Robert does 'Getting Jiggy Wit It' or wicky-wicky 'Wild Wild West'.

  22. Anyone notice "Close to Me" used in Crazy, Stupid, Love trailer (http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3722091801/).

  23. These side projects are ok to fill the time between now and (hopefully) the next album/remastered album.

    New album please!

Considering Depeche Mode, OMD & Duran sort of 'went back to their roots' on their respective last releases, will THE CURE...?

4:13 was a step in the right direction, but not far enough.

  24. sounds funny...don´t know any of these McCartney stuff...but I would love to hear Cure covering Nico...

  25. On my way into work this morning I was listening to Keven & Bean on KROQ in L.A. and they were making fun that Paul McCartney is making his own tribute album. They said "who does that"? "It's usually other people who decide hey let's make a trbute album in honor of the artist music, not the artist themselves." They went on and mentioned The Cure and how James is a big fan. And also, ragged on McCartney for picking Billy Joel to do a song (VOMIT ~ that was from me).

  27. Band on the Run is a great album, I'd like The Cure to do 'Let Me Roll It'

  28. Harold: if the newspaper cliché was true(about them hating themselves), there would be a massacre - throwing chairs over the studio etc hehehe

  33. do we really need all this?

usually songs covered by The Cure sucks, and 90% of Paul McCartney solo / Wings catalog sucks big time

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dunno. 41 years old never got into anything Beatles...except for Crowded House ;)

  35. McCartney's last good album was A Hard Days Night... his 2nd band, wings was just sad.

can't imagine RSX doing any post Fab-Four era McCartney songs w/ a straight face... but then i couldn't imagine him doing a sea shanty either (re: Pirate Ships)

  36. why's nobody mentioned that frog one?
roberts already made a rough demo of it. check between songs on one of the VHS releases.[with lol]

  37. Yeah, Robert - let's do everything you can think of to avoid finishing a new album. Another cover song, another tribute track, more "living in the past" tours.

    ReplyDelete
  38. nineteen hundred and eighty five. i think robert could have fun with that one!

  39. The as-yet-untitled collection will be released to coincide with the pop legend's 70th birthday in June, and a behind-the-scenes documentary is also being filmed during studio sessions.
