Posted to The Cure's Facebook. Note that it is only North America who have to wait until June 8th. Rest of the world release is still set for May 24th.

  1. Good thing I changed my order to Amazon UK. :) Cheaper and it will arrive sooner, can't go wrong with that.

  2. I don't know, I can't get really excited about this. The fact of the matter is that this is an album we all have owned for decades. There are a few (very few) new cuts on it and there is some live stuff. I'm sure I'll get around to picking it up at some point but I'd rather have some new Cure, which is probably years away from happening.

  3. JPX - I hear you. When 4:13 was delayed I was pretty glum; this is just annoying

  8. I'm pretty excited by this release since I've hold off buying the old cd, which means I only own the original 1989 cassette!!

See, the old cd is not much better than the old tape, so I figured, why bother? I'll hold off till they release a new, proper version.

Can you imagine how happy I was when I read in the Trilogy dvd that it would finally be released in 2004? Oh joy! You can all lol now.
The wait's been far too long...
...and is still going on for Wish.

  12. Mixed Up 2
    Wish
    Wild Mood Swings
    BloodFlowers

When we reach that point we'll be overdue for a special edition of The Cure, why, maybe even 4:13 Dream!
    ...both with alternate 5.1 mix.
    I can dream, I guess.

  13. Wish is the only other album I'd really like to see get the "deluxe" treatment, especially if we get Lost Wishes on it. Still, I'd rather just hear some new Cure.

  14. Hopefully, "remastered" won't mean the album will be mixed and compressed so loud that it loses all dynamic range and sounds like crap.

  15. I think the fact that its remastered is why i'm excited. I don't have the world's best sound-system, but the limitations of the recording are apparent to me, like in closedown the bass gets pretty muddy, imho.

  16. I'm mostly looking forward to deluxe Wish, Blooflowers, and perhaps those live shows released officially... And NEW music of course, but we'll probably only get about half of that in the next 10 years anyway x]

  17. I guess they wanted to save the best for last and The United States Of America is the greatest of them all. God bless America!!!
