  1. I wonder if they will change their setlist at all for this entire tour like The Cure. They didn't play Blasphemous Rumors last tour in LA and I would really like to hear that one this time.

  3. doubtful that they'll play Blasphemous Rumours... great song but they haven't touched it in more than twenty years: http://www.pimpfdm.com/Tour/Tour.html

  4. Abhi: While I agree that it's very doubtful, who would have believed we would get Strangelove and Master & Servant again, after such a long break from playing them?

I just hope the rumors of Lie To Me and Stories of Old are true.

  5. I know! I couldn't believe they added M&S and Strangelove to the setlist!

It's interesting to see which songs have never left their set since they were written ("Never Let Me Down Again", "Personal Jesus", "Enjoy The Silence", "I Feel You", "Walking In My Shoes", "Precious").

I always tell people that if you really want to know what a band considers their "best", don't rely on the fickleness of interviews... (who knows how the band members felt right at that moment to give whatever answer they give). Instead, look to the songs that have remained live stalwarts to know which tracks the band will always stand by.

  9. The only songs that generally change in a DM setlist on their tours is the "acoustic" segment that Martin does every night. There are very few exceptions to that. They're simply not a band that mixes their setlists up night to night, unfortunately.

  11. I've never been to a show, so I was excited about watching these videos and seeing what all the hype was about. After doing so, I have this to say: what is all the hype about? It was not high energy. Gahan only sings about 1/3 of the lyrics. His voice isn't at all powerful. Martin Gore hardly moves and although he appears to be playing his guitar, you generally can't hear it. Andy Fletcher is just sort of there, and doesn't seem to be playing anything much of the time. The only good things I have to say are: their touring keyboardist and drummer are very, very good. Sorry. I hate to be negative, but that's my take.

Martin writes good songs, and they are good recording artists.

Any other comparisons between DM and The Cure are fairly ludicrous. IMHO

I did like "Fly on the Windscreen."
