  1. And, of course, it's still notably absent from the US charts. Typical.

  2. Is there anybody here from Canada who managed to grab a copy of Freakshow? Still can't find it anywhere.

  3. I'm from Canada and I haven't found it at HMV yet. However they just got in four copies of the Only One at my local HMV... but I also live in Newfoundland, and it takes everyone forever to ship us new releases.

I just gave up and ordered mine from Ideal Copy. I hope they'll be here this week! :(

  4. Shawn: You must have missed last weeks post. Freak debuted at #2 on the US singles sales chart.

  5. There is somebody at the MFC Cure Forum claiming he just got the tracklist for "Dream 13" and it's like this:

    01. Underneath the stars
    02. The Only One
    03. Lusting here in your mind
    04. Freakshow
    05. Sleep When I'm Dead
    06. The Hungry Ghost
    07. A Christmas without you
    08. The Perfect Boy
    09. Spot marks the X
    10. 16
    11. Please come home
    12. A Boy I never knew
    13. Baby Rag Dog Book

Don't know if it's true, but the song names were already mentioned by Robert before.

  6. when it's officially posted, I'll believe it. until then...

  7. that'd be cool if that was the tracklist. i can hear SWID coming right after freakshow. great pacing choice. and TOO after UTS is so wish-y.

  9. Muld: Yes I did. And don't YOU say anything about the Battlestar finale. I'm still 2 episodes behind. : (

  10. That tracklisting just sounds like all the song titles we know so far stuck together. I very much doubt it's the real thing.

I'm about to order Freakshow too... Just giving myself another week to think it over.

  11. Monkey: This season. Missed the last two episodes. Thanks a lot Cure! : )

  13. Craig - watched Doctor Who from Friday yesterday... it's a 2-parter with actress Alex Kingston. Have you seen it yet? It's wild!

    ReplyDelete
  14. i don't even KNOW what BGS means. but battlestar rocks. i'm glad a certain cylon is back, because she's HOT.

  15. i know this is OT, but this has been eating at me for days and i wondering if anyone on COF knows the answer:

daren butler who wrote the cure on record and the #1 cure collector - cant find any info on him, no official site, means of contact (Im not stalking.. i swear.. just a few questions is all). but hes credited as the editor for festival 2005. most likely im wrong, and its another daren butler?

  16. Kate: No, only up to the Poison Sky and the return of you know who. : )
How could anyone not love her?

Now that the tour is over, I plan to catch up this week. Have all of the episodes on the computer, just have to stop watching youtube clips. : )

    ReplyDelete
  17. DJ: Same Daren. Works with Simon on the tour.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Craig - Ah, that's cool. Poison Sky with the return was really great!

You have some good stuff to look forward to. We should not have watched part one yesterday. Now we have to wait for part 2. Argh!

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. DJ: Yes, Daren is only one person.
    : )

  20. Daren is my hero. He knows why. :D

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes, add rescuer to Daren's resume.
    : )

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, Craig. :D Daren had his own personal groupie for this tour! Sad he couldn't talk much, though. Haha. *lame*

  23. man, i shouldve said hi to daren when i saw him =/. did not know that was the same daren at the time.
how long has he been si's tech?

  24. 2 things, 1 - freakshow is finally available in Toronto, i just grabbed the 7 inch at criminal records on queen (only 1 left now)
they also have the only one 7 inch
and hmv on queen has the cd singles of both now.
other thing i met daren butler in new york this weekend and chatted with him a bit, super nice guy, i asked him if he was going to update the book and he said a couple of years ago he put together a draft and it was about 2inches thick. he has since put that aside for now.
Geri, he gave the traveller to robert, i asked if he could get a photo with robert before coming back to nfld, daren said he'd have to wait til they get back to england to do that, so the traveller's journey continues.
And thanks to Daren too for Simon's setlists from Radio City
    and Montreal.

  25. Hynreck, it's insane... even Zulu Records in Vancouver doesn't have it yet.

  26. Steve, you are amazing. Thank you SO much!

I was thinking about you and some other people at the MSG and RCMH shows. I hope you had a great time! :D

After I get this book finished, I'll do up a little something for you if I'm not dead with my new job. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. That picture of Robert doing the Freaky dance (RCMH post) is as iconic as the one of him on the front of the JTD CD.

I say we make fucking t-shirts of it.

  28. i dont get how to appoach roadies/tech after the show for a setlist, i tried and they said they were too busy tearing down the stage? but the setlists have to come down anyways!

if anyones interested: freakshow and the only one promo is on ebay now

    ReplyDelete
  29. i'm not saying anyone is foolish for doing so, but i'm amazed there was a time when i actually would have paid twelve bucks for a promo version of a cd/song. i'm still a collector, just a bit scaled back. if i had more $$$, i'd buy everything.

  30. Craig, I was talking about The Only One.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Craig: We're catching up on our Dr. Who as well. Just finished the two-parter...

    Moontear/About the track listing:

I think UTS will be the opening track. If you look at what they typically open shows with (hint: album openers) than you can see it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. DJ here's a hint about getting setlists if you have the time
go to the venue in the afternoon,
find the stage door and hang out.
when the tech guys come out for a break (assuming it's nice weather)
talk to them, find out who the guitar techs are, and their names,
be polite and not stalkerish, talk about them and their jobs, not just about the band, don't be annoying, ask about the possibilty of getting a setlist after the show. REMEMBER their names, people including crew respond more to someone calling their name than hey you. Prepare to politely but firmly stall security for a couple of minutes after the show as they try and rush everyone out, and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  33. steve - thanks man, youre awesome :). i was there at the stage door before the show, but i didnt see anyone from outside - just security, and ushers getting ready. thats why i questioned me being there, but im not confused about it anymore, thank you!!

monkeybutt - id buy them too if i had money. after all, the value of it will definetly go up decades from now, and it will certainly be quite rare.

  34. Dammit I want Freakshow now! I still haven't heard All Kinds of Stuff... Sigh. At this rythmn, I'm gonna get all singles in one batch and have me a love fest.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's a deal, Craigers!

Oh, and BSG means "leather fetish"...which is to say, he's on the current season of leather fetish?

(whispers) All this Cure stuff has driven, Craig mad!

hellogeri, It's hard to find at HMV. What you might want to consider doing is ordering all the singles on pre-order from amazon.ca. They have the best deal in Canada -- as low as $1.99 and only as high as $2.99. What you do is find something that won't ship for a while -- like Dexter Season 2, which ships in August and you attach the singles to that; you can cancel Dexter and pick something else; check www.tvshowsondvd.com and click on "release schedule" for a list. Wait until you have $39 worth of stuff for free shipping. Ta da!
