"Their brand new studio album will be released worldwide on 13th September, with 4 consecutive, different single releases preceding the album on the 13th of each month: 13th May, 13th June, 13th July and 13th August. 'The Only One' is the first of this series, and as per the other formats, will be available on Limited CD & 7” Vinyl (with collectors boxes for both), as well as digital download. Each will have a brand new, non-album b-side."
'The Only One' is the song formerly known as 'Please Project'. So what do you think about this plan?
hell yeah. nothing like a gimmick to take the pain out of the lackluster!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a GREAT plan!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it...
Pete
sounds interesting...
ReplyDeleteSomeone buy it off Ebay and post a sample!!!
ReplyDeletethey won't ship till 5/13
ReplyDelete@jpx: How are you feeling? ;)
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings, how can I bitch now? Don't worry, I'll find a way. Why change the title? I like "Please Project" better. See, V, I'm back, baby!
ReplyDeleteWell, I can live with this if this is really the plan, but where the heck did this seller get his info?
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be a great year!
ReplyDeleteLive Cure and new Album : )
woot!!
I'm getting rather giddy about all this. Please Project AKA The Only One sounds fabulous in the MTV Gold version. Previously I was not impressed, but they've tweaked it a bit and it's got a more Wish-era feel to it. Keep in mind that Wish ain't my fave Cure album, but I do like some of the pop tunes on it quite a bit. Anyscrew, this marketing strategy sounds interesting. Dunno if it'll work or backfire, but whatever; I'm just happy to get new Cure!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant marketing ... shows Robert is not neglecting the 'store' or the fans.
ReplyDeleteAND I really liked "Please Project" right from the first time I heard it on a Youtube clip. IMO it s a very catchy tune.
Hopefully a live CD from a N. American gig will be released too.
kinda beating the whole 13 thing to death no?
ReplyDelete33 completed tracks, minus 4 singles, and 4 bsides, leaves 25 tracks on a double album, or 12 per disc. sounds good to me! it will be less of a sprawling mess this way, without keeping songs in the vaults.

ReplyDeleteYay this is what I was looking forward to....now I an genuinely excited again....no if that dozy official site could just confirm it!
ReplyDeleteOne05 - The 4 a-sides would be from the album. The 4 b-sides would be non-album. So add 4 more tracks to the album.
ReplyDeleteHey, at least it's SOMETHING! I think it's great!
