  1. I wonder why the oh-so-delectable 'Underneath the Stars' has been absent this time around...

    1. I've heard live versions of that before, from what it sounds like to me is that they don't have the correct lineup for it (no keyboards in that song?). So can't play it, same with Figurehead I guess.

    2. Sure, but they can rearrange songs to fit the lineup. They've played The Figurehead with a similar lineup during the Trilogy concerts. They even soundchecked it once this year. They also played The Only One with Roger a while ago, with an added keyboard line. It can be done, they've just elected not to.

    3. Sorry but thats crap....4/5ths of this line up wrote UTS...and the guitar lines could easily be played by reeves...as for Figurehead....whats complicated about it that this lineup couldnt play? silly comment

    4. I don't think he means the current lineup couldn't play those songs, it's just that some songs in their original form would have nothing to do for some of the band members. But songs can change, and I think UTS with a few added synth lines could sound wonderful.

    5. I think Robert will play any song he wants with any given line up. Don't forget how many keyboard-heavy songs they did from 05 - 09 when they had only guitars in the line up. So the line up doesn't the set list. Or at least only in a very diminutive way.
Also; Roger adds some stuff (quite good actually) to several songs that originally has no keys at all. The Hungry Ghost, Sleep when I Dead, Never Enough to name a few. So course Underneath the Stars COULD be played. But for some reason Robert has chosen differently.

  2. Great gig and great crowd. Why he waited so long to play Killing an arab and 10.15? Anyway best evening of mine personal Cure Tour 2016. Highlights: burn, charlotte, last dance, want, at night, 10.15, kaa.

  4. I have so much respect for Robert tonight, how he politely ignored the party popper getting fired at him covering them all in confetti at the start (a lesser man would have lost their shit) and he took it all in stride.

Then the few times people needed to be escorted out, he acknowledged it for a moment and he just kept powering on, no interruptions. He knows what he is doing.

You gotta admit, the man is hardcore.

  5. Don't know if it's 2Late for song requests but would love to hear Cold, A Strange Day, and yes, the above-mentioned song. How about Faith, Last Day of Summer, and Jupiter Crash?

  6. I was lucky enough to see The Cure in NYC earlier this year (booked before the European tour was announced, and a perfect excuse for a trip to the US!), in addition to the classic songs being played at most shows I got to hear Twilight Garden, The Hanging Garden, Pornography, Dressing Up & Snakepit live for the 1st time. Great venue, great show.

After some concerns after the Manchester hiccup and periodic reports of a voice that was suffering over the last couple of months, night 2 at Wembley was even better!

I was hoping for a Disintegration heavy set and that was what I got, Plainsong has to be among my favourite Cure song and that was the opener, and the night just got better and better (sorry, couldn't resist!).

A 17 Seconds Encore - brilliant! Charlotte Sometimes - ok, so this is hardly a rare live song but I can't remember the last time I personally got to hear it live - brilliant! And Burn (surely this is the 1st tour Burn has been a regular on the set list?) again was amazing to hear live.

Anyway enough rambling... you get the idea, I was smiling throughout, and I'm very happy and still buzzing from my experience of watching The Cure for the 10th time.

Cheers Craig for keeping this website updated for me and all the other Cure geeks out there. Much appreciated, until next time!

  7. Wow, great setlist! I thought we already got one of the best sets in Amsterdam, but this would've been the ideal setlist for me and my sister. She's primarily a Disintegration fan, I'm more into the old school stuff. This would've been a perfect blend of the two.

  10. First time since 1992
A really phenomenonal concert, surpassed all my expectations. So glad I decided to go on the off-chance I'd get a ticket
For a casual fan like me who used to love them in the late 80s/ early 90s it was perfect. And I used to hate Friday I'm in Love but it made perfect sense on a night like this.
