  1. Well, that list is all kinds of wrong.

  2. 4:13 should be at the bottom, all the others are class. The order changes from day to day

    2. 4:13 is a bit like wms - too many songs, but badly produced & no great tunes (want, this is a lie, bare...)

  3. It's interesting. My Top 7 list would include all of his Top 7 albums...but in a slightly different order.

    1. Andy your list is the most reasonable...17S is too high and bloodflowers way too low...why do so many fans place the recent albums at the bottom...do we really thi k they stink that bad...how disrespectful....this isn't the 80s or the 90s and the cure can't make all of you happy by not evolving, improving, and cranking out the same sounding crap....Bravo to The Cure for changing even if they did lose the edge considerably...love you Robert

    3. Sorry, but 'recent' actually made me laugh :)

    4. Wow. Great list. I've noticed most of The Cure's fans rank the same albums in the Top 7 or 8 (just different order), which definitely says something about the superior quality of these albums as agreed upon by most everyone it seems...

  6. 4:13 is easily their worst. The rest are difficult to rank

  7. My choices: 1. Pornography 2. The Head on the Door 3. Disintegration 4. Wish 5.Faith

  8. Sorry but these some of these lists are way off. I would have started with Happily Ever After at #1, and followed with further transgressions such as Concert/Curiosities and Entreat.

  9. There's no fucking way either 3IB or 17 S are in the top 10...I'm serious the Cure seriously improved and 2 or 3 tracks aren't gonna keep an album in the top 5 when so many subsequent albums have lots of great tracks..the top is good but not stellar no further up than 8...I don't care who you are!!!!

  10. 13. Three Imaginary Boys
    12. The Top
    11. Seventeen Seconds
    10. Wild Mood Swings
    9. The Cure

    7. Bloodflowers
    6. Faith
    5. Wish
    4. The Head On The Door
    3. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
    2. Disintegration
    #1. Pornography

Sorry but this thee way it should carefully considerate of each albums merits...where the band was at in its strengths..strong tracks..videos... singles...etc etc etc

  11. Too bad these lists imply that those at the bottom mean they're not good.

To me they all stand well on their own but The Cure have gone through phases/lineup changes and they have put out albums that seem related to each other. That said if I had to do a -favorites- list it wouldn't go in a traditional 1,2,3,4... order but grouped kind of like...

    1. KMKMKM/Head On The Door
    2. Disintegration/Bloodflowers
    3. 17 Seconds/Faith/Pornography
    4. Wish/The Cure (vinyl version)
    5. BOY'S DON'T CRY/3 Imaginary Boys/Japanese Whispers
    6. The Top/The Glove
    7. 4:13 Dream/4:14 Scream?
    8. Wild Mood Swings

  12. Context is a great decipher.
I think its fantastic that the fans views about best records are so diverse. It really says a lot about this little band from Crawley.

As nqfaust indicated, the "phases" are important recognize, as well as the time period these songs were written/recorded. Listening to the live recordings from each phase/era
makes those songs sound even stronger.

Some of us have been Cure fans before Just Like Heaven was even written.
I learned to drive while listening to 3IB, and there are more "than 2 or 3 good tracks" for sure.

In fact 3IB and 17 Sec are my 13 year old's favorite records. I give his opinion A LOT of merit since he has learned practically all of the bass parts from both records. He can even articulate and compare Dempsey's style to Simon's.
Makes this Cure Dad VERY proud.

    No way 3IB is worst.
Yes the production was pretty poor, but considering "merits and strengths" they were just 3 members, in their teens, that makes it even better! And it STILL attracts new fans!

    Context.....

I'm sorry but Bloodflowers is the worst, the most uninspired record ever made by the Cure. It's the first time they sounded so precictable..Dream 13 and WMS are mediocre, but not so much. The others are all good.

  17. Blood flowers will always be my favorite album. Very first cure album and it remains my favorite with disintegration pretty close behind.

  18. I really like Bloodflowers its just that it's too acoustic too much of the time....it has that strong Cure sound...love the cover...no great singles just all great tracks...gotta love it all....too bad that US tour was so brief

  22. I think that people tend to gravitate to the album that they heard first and spent the most time with. For me, that was Disintegration. It'll always be my number one, followed closely by Pornography.

  23. Move "Wish" further up (3, 4, or 5, depending on what was placed above and below it) and this is about right, imho.

While I(31 year serious fan) really enjoy most cure albums in their entirety, The only songs I can bare from "The Cure" are Beauty, Goodness, & Truth and Fake, two of the bonus tracks. But to each their own. These are my favs in order including the live albums, but not the singles collections. . . a bit more thorough
