2016 European Tour announced!

From the official site (website is down, read on Facebook):

"The Cure will be playing 30 shows in 17 European countries next Autumn, their first major tour of the continent since 2008

During the past 7 years the band has performed a number of high profile London shows, and headlined most of the major European festivals, including Roskilde, Werchter, Reading & Leeds, Pinkpop, Hurricane & Southside, Paleo, Vieilles Charrues, BBK, Belfort, Optimus Alive!, Primavera, Frequency, Electric Picnic and Bestival…

"THE CURE TOUR 2016" will present Robert Smith (voice/guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O'Donnell (keys) and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) as they explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favourites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production that promises to be one of the 'must see' shows of the year!

Support on all dates will be The Twilight Sad.

    1. Agreed. Seems too big for just... nothing.

    2. The most interesting thing about this news is that the Cure site is down. Even after all these years I'm still a glutton for punishment so even if there is an inkling of new album news ("as yet unreleased tracks", site down) my heart skips a beat. Its likely nothing but I can't help myself!

Congrats to my fellow Cure fans in Europe!

  5. Oh my, those guys at the UK ticket site wrote the band name incorrectly at the bottom of the page:

    SECURE
    TICKETS
    FROM AUTHORISED
    RETAILERS

    Are they German?
Just joking... but seriously does anyone know anything about the pre-sale yet?

  6. Can anyone buy the tickets in the presale? Or is there some kind of priority?

  7. Tour starts walking distance from my home!

  8. Lyon and Montpellier, at last.
Both two hours of travel from Clermont-Ferrand where I live.
Too big for nothing to promote.

  9. Still no info about the presale? I'm specifically thinking about the Stockholm show.

    1. You`re right. No shows in Ireland & Scotland. So go to Berlin. You`ll like it...

    3. Scotland ignored again. No Cure show since the Wish tour. Come on, play the Glasgow Hydro!!!!

  11. How likely is it that the one London show will turn into two or three shows? Given that it is the end of the tour?

    1. Very likely...id say there's a second London show on the Friday 2nd, depending on how well the 1st sells

    2. Hm, Friday would be far easier to organize... would be good.

  12. When the official site went down I had noticed that their merchandise store is now closed. They hadn't had any new additions for a long time anyway...

Then I found this website http://store.feamerch.com/thecure/ claiming to be "official" but its never stocked anything before.

I thought with all these tours next year that some of us might want to get a few things to show our support or something?

  13. Anybody know how the stockholm and copenhagen presales will work?

  15. Hope these tours end up in a LatAm tour as it happened the last time :D

  16. I don't understand why they are starting to sell tickets a year or more in advance. It's a bit absurd to sell tickets in november 2015 for s concert in december 2016.
