  2. Guesses on the setlist ? Anyone ? Please, allow me to make a speculation: 20 (or so) songs that everyone already painfully knows. BUt then 10 more rarities from the more recent albums. Plus...as Robert Himself had once said..."there's always that one song"...so, 1 - 2 brand new songs, so the other members of the current lineup are not completely bored...Anyway, I've got a ticket for Chicago, I'm so happy, I'll see them again. Cheers

    1. I'm hoping they play Burn during this tour. That used to be so unlikely, but I see it as a real possibility now that they played it a few years ago.

    2. I would be happy if they never played Wrong Number live again. I quite like that song but it just has never sounded right when I've heard it live.

  3. If you remember "The Boy I Never Knew" was played during their tour in 2008, but never got released...But at that we all were so thrilled about it...Does anyone remember the proto version of "It's Over", which was introduced on the tour, as Baby Rag Dog Book...? So...brace yourselves...I believe there will be some great surprises...

  4. As far as setlists are concerned, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they play a bunch of Cure songs. ;)

    3. The end of the world and Alt.bore is a great time to use the bathroom and get another drink.

    4. Awww I like Alt.End. Probably the only song on that album I care to listen to, actually.

    5. Maybe because the guitar is the same as "In Your House?" I'm surprised you don't like more songs. Def not my fave Cure album, but I thought, "Labyrinth," "Anniversary," and "Us or Them" were pretty good songs too. JMO of course, but I dug maybe half that album.

  7. I hope, for the rest of the band's sake they go into some really deep cuts and throw in some new tracks..
Otherwise they'll be putting off death by repetition!

  8. I'm going to repeat what I said at Curefans and say that they've spent the last year being invisible and making a new album, so I'll bet they announce a new album before the tour starts...

    1. 4:13 dark album everybody?maybe?

    2. Personally I think that died when Porl left, I’d be equally surprised/delighted if it ever surfaces.

    3. Yeah, that's how I feel about that...
Kind of like A Boy, Come Home & Strum being written with Perry, now they're just leaked demos/unreleased songs...

      Delete
    4. Shame about strum not being released. Did we ever get any reason why that and please come home were left off the s/t? Such a mediocre and middling effort that could have been saved with a few substitutions...

    5. I was listening to the Hurricane show which had interview bits with Robert interspersed throughout. He was asked about the new album, and although the approx. 12 songs from 4:13 are "done", he said they no longer represent who the Cure is today (Reeves). But he said "they will come out." I think it could be something new and unexpected! Wouldn't that be Out of this World?!

    6. If there is no Pearl nothing is good!

  9. I did notice at Barnes & Nobles today that the only two Cure things they had were Three Imaginary Boys(which I bought)and 4:13 dream on LP. That is already strange for Cure items to be popping up around stores here. Maybe a hint?:)

  10. I heard from a safe source that the setlist for the entire tour was going to be:

    1. Us or them (extended mix)
    2. Us or them (RS mix)
    3. Us or them (RS radio mix)
    4. Us or them (analogue exchange mix)
    5. Us or them (p2p mix)
    6. Us or them (single mix)

Sorry bad joke, but im just jealaous of you guys going there, and me stuck in Europe.

  11. @xyzsthlm that would not be the worst setlist! in certain situations!!

  12. EVERYBODY 10/12/2015

I know this is awkward, but at the Reeves show here, a unnamed pricked pricked my girlfriend with a syringe full of an unknown substance in her muscle(shes medically trained). Security was highly increased already, however. IT STILL HAPPENED. Be SAFE at the shows like in the past. We saw unnamed prick at a goodwill later too following us. JUST SAYING. I just want my ticket, though.

  13. By the way, he failed. just saying. watch out for this guy. You all probably know who I am talking about. !

  14. You can just dream u new album! It smells like the end for The Cure unfortunately! not dark this album ! but album pop!

    1. @eric Im still positive about a new album. Dont think they could manage this large tour without a new release. By that i mean that they need support from promoters / record labels / distrubution to get this thing rolling.

Sure it could just be a new "best of" release or a "Wish deluxe", you never know.... in only 8 months, we all know.

    2. I hope so! With this line-up I guess nothing good!

  15. Us or Them is terrible. In the 5 worst Cure songs of all time, easily. Who wants to hear that?!

    1. It's weird, I was always warned how bad WMS allegedly was and went out of my way not to buy it when I got into the group 12 or so years ago, but there isn't a single song in the bands catalog that falls on it's face as much as us and them. To this day I think I've heard it maybe two or three times. Clearly it was a product of Ross Robinson, ugh.

  16. Us or Them is a great song, both musically and lyrically. It represents a wonderful thing about Robert, at least I think so and I like to see it this way. Instead of him getting more mellow and conformist, he's getting even more aggressive and rebellious on social issues, as he grows older that is...So much anger and defiance in this song. I think it's only admirable that The Cure came up with such a song so late in their career... and 22 years after 100 Years...

    ReplyDelete
  17. That said, I think it's a good thing they didn't work with Ross Robinson on 4:13...I' m not sure he knew what to do with The Cure...all along...Nevertheless, "The Cure" is a great record and I'd be happy to listen to it in it's entirety, if they ever decide to play it ( I don't think they will :) Cheers...

    1. They would have to play 'The Top' multiple times to accomplish that. ;)
