Help with Wild Mood Swings toys?

Can anyone help @moggieboy with this?
"contemplating buying this as late Xmas pressie. Is it legit?"

I remember someone posting a bit of history about these toys a few years back, and also someone posting a place that sold some of the toys much cheaper than EIL does. If you can help, please post or email me. Thanks!

Update: Found the post from 2010 about buying some of these at Jesters, and they still have the clown and panda.

  1. It's legit but wayyy overpriced, like most Cure items on EIL. Those toys were available for around $35, can't remember where from but maybe someone here can help. My advice, don't buy from EIL.

Also this particular toy was not used on any Wild Mood Swings single/album cover.

  2. I don't remeber the story you are writing about, but personnaly I had the opportunity to buy the '13th' bear and the 'WMS' clown for let's say 15€ each no more. Ok they were not original from the 50's but reissues (in 2003 in think), but this one seems to be a reissue as well, so I wouldn't buy that for that price.

    1. thanks Craig, but no, very short, like 10-15 seconds only, but featured only tin toys moving around on yellow background. Remember it. Or was it only on french tv and never surfaced on Youtube?

  5. Check ebay - I bought all my toys from there - bucketloads cheaper. Don't search for "Cure" search for things like "clown on scooter", "drumming panda", "little traveller".

  6. bwahaha - just checked the post from 2010 and I basically wrote the same thing back then:

My two cents... never pay for "The Cure" name for these tin toys. Just keep an eye on eBay under TinToys. Search on things like "Clown On Scooter", "Drumming Panda", "Little Traveller", "Man with Suitcase", "Monkey Riding Horse/Pony". Mint Car was the hardest to find and I think I had to succumb to The Cure name and pay through the nose. But you can definitely find the others without the price tag of them being labelled "Cure".
