Robert on 'Crystal Castles'

From the NME 60th anniversary special issue (and this is apparently the only Cure content in the entire thing) - Robert Smith talks about 'Crystal Castles' by Crystal Castles.

  1. The 60 most important albums of the last 60 years, and not one Cure album? Seriously?!? Yet they've included bloody Eminem!!! F*cking NME - this is why I hate them. Don't know why Robert bothered giving them an interview a few months back.

  2. Shameful UK music press strikes again. Not sure if anyone else has reported yet that Q Magazine has been really mean about The Cure's appearance at Optimus Alive. Ted Kessler must be somehow impaired not to realised how Earth-shatteringly on top form the band are at the moment.

    1. Latest issue with Blur on the front. As well as the article which infers The Cure are boring dinosaurs (not the words used, but certainly the sentiment) there's also a picture of Robert with the caption along the lines of 'Robert breaks the news that the Cure will be playing for 3 hours'.
I almost wish I hadn't reported this as it doesn't deserve repeating. The Blur article is pretty good, but the rest of the mag is largely tripe. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but there's no need to be mean.

    2. Hmm... For fear of contradiction, I'd actually deleted the "tripe" comment. Anyone else having issues with posting comments via iPhone editor?

    3. Thanks. I won't buy it, because I don't think they deserve my money!! By the way - it's not just you. I'm having massive problems posting with my iphone too.

  5. Are they confirming 3 hour sets for the UK festival shows?
