The Cure are one of the Q 25
Q magazine is celebrating their 25th anniversary by selecting the Greatest Act of the Last 25 Years, and The Cure have made their short list of 25. You can vote here by creating your own list of 25. You just have to drag and drop the artists around the grid, then submit it. (Thanks JC, Jeremy, and Barry)

ReplyDeleteI didn't know the collaboration with Blink 182 was a career highlight!!! Rubbish article!
ReplyDeleteI voted and added The Smiths. Ashamed to admit that I forgot to add Depeche Mode and New Order.
ReplyDeleteVoted and added depeche mode too.

Nice bike. Don't know why you'd want a fixed gear if you weren't riding track, or why it has a brake if it's a track bike. (I used to be a serious cyclist.)
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be the trendy thing to have at the moment(a fixed gear) i see them all over in London and Copenhagen.....argghh bike anorak
ReplyDeletegraig nothing new abot the cure?
ReplyDeleteEric, be carefull because something new may never happen with The Cure !
ReplyDeletepm, makes sense then.. don't see 'em much in my parts, thanks!!
ReplyDeleteah. lame-ish article. It was a highlight of Blink-182's career to collaborate with Robert haha :P
ReplyDeleteplease. i'm trying to block that collaboration from my mind.
ReplyDeletei can only add 3 bands? the rest are crap. will not be playing. the cure should be all 25.
turns out the pages wouldn't show up in my firefox 4. had to use that other browser. also added DM and NO to the mix.
ReplyDeleteThanks, bob. Not my color, but a fun article to read, and a very cool project that they are doing.
ReplyDeleteThere should be news soon, eric & David. At the very least, we have Bestival to look forward to. And maybe a surprise or 2? Keep your fingers crossed.
I'd like less announcements and more real news and projects. It's so disapointing to read that something is supposed to happen and that never comes out or it does 3 years later. I'd like new stuff, new Cure music... It's what has always kept The Cure alive, vibrant and relevant. I mean it's cool to get re releases and gigs like Sydney's but too much nostalgia kills creativity. Remember when Robert explained how old songs are the beloved ones just because fans listen to them for 15 or 30 years ? That doesn't mean they're better than more recent ones. I think that's the latest album is always criticized when coming out, compared (and underated) to old stuff. And times goes by snd then people goes like 'finally this record is fucking good, I should have noticed that'. 'Underneath the stars', 'The Scream', 'Labyrinth', 'Cut here', 'Out of this world', 'Lost' .. are fucking good songs, as fucking good as 'Boys don't cry', '100 hundred years' or 'Lovesong'. But they have to be judged for themselves and forgetting a bit what's been done before. I want everything ! Old and new, Porl, Jason, Boris, Teddy and Porl, concerts, Dvds, singles, videos, pop and dark, everything !!!
ReplyDeletethanks graig:)
