Happiness. Does it truly exist? Or is it, as some say, just an imaginary concept created by Man to give life meaning? And what of its pursuit? Is it really worth it? For many, its effects seem so fleeting. Merely lasting seconds, not years.
But no matter, because it IS worth it, and you must always keep the faith, no matter how hopeless and bleak times may seem. Find solace in the things that truly make you happy. Whether it's old friends, your partner, traveling, concerts, The Cure, whatever it is for you, that keeps you from being "lost forever in a happy crowd."
All this, simply to say, chin up! Darkest before the dawn. Silence before the big bang. Wonderful things are just around the corner. You just can't quite see them yet. But one day, you will.
Update (5/5/11): Now that the news is out, I'll highlight the clues in red. : )

ReplyDeleteIs this the precursor to a new Cure album announcement?
ReplyDeletelike :)
ReplyDeletei...am speechless. and i know it's meant to be a positive post but all i can think is- oh my god. what does he know that i need to prepare for?
ReplyDeletei've got nothing left but faith, craig!
No worries, Sofia. Everything is good. I promise.
ReplyDeleteI'm Cancerian, does it apply to my sign too? :)
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful way with words, Craig.
ReplyDeleteAs always, onwards and upwards!

ReplyDeleteNice and subtle....:)
ReplyDeleteJust listened to Faith end to end for the first time in a while tonight... good timing!
ReplyDeletehaha! oh my god. my heart is beating a million times a minute. nice and subtle, indeed. indeed indeed.
ReplyDelete:D
very nice written, I am touched, thank you Craig!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you're going to tell us that the Rebecca Black collaboration is indeed true!!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could! But I can't. Not yet. Not until...friday, friday. : )
ReplyDeleteAll of this just to announce the release of Paris 2008 on DVD and Blu-Ray! We are NOT so desparate, Craig! (I feel it coming soon... Well, at least there will be a complete show video bootleg available somewhere soon, so says my little finger!)
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty crappy, Craigers. I'm volunteering for political parties for the federal election here in Canada and both our left-wing parties disappoint me. There are so many scumbags and careerists. Each time I volunteer, I somehow feel a bit deflated and disillusioned, wondering what it's all for. I'm sure many of you Obama supporters in the US can relate; heck, even I hoped for more from Obama!
ReplyDeleteSo, thanks, Craig, whether it's about a Cure release or just life. I never really understood what Robert sings about in "Pornography" when I was in high school, but a few years later I "got" it and that understanding of the bleakness of life hasn't left me.
I'm going for the Wish Remaster announcement..........maybe..
ReplyDeletei personally would prefer NOT to have these kind of hints as it's very, very frustrating. especially after so much time without anything interesting happening. just give the news when you can give them! as i said, now i really feel frustrated.
ReplyDeleteWell thank you, Craig! That was very nice to read this morning!
ReplyDeletejusto aparece esto en un momento muy complicado para mi… gracias! Keep the faith!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe that it has been thirty years.
ReplyDeleteDaaamn Craig. This is scary. The lyrics of last 2 RS songs that came out, were exactly how I felt at that moment. Perfect for my situation. Today, life sucks like hell, and I read this. Stop it, yall!! :p
ReplyDeleteStretching my neck to see around this corner already! It´s coming too slow! :D
ReplyDeleteDon't say friday or I'll believe you... post birthday news!
Is it just me, or all a lot of the "In Orange" videos that were on YouTube not there any more? Does that mean something good for a DVD/Blu-Ray release?!?!
ReplyDeleteNice touch Craig...as always.
ReplyDeleteGraig:Can u give us a little indication of what to come?
ReplyDeletethanx :)
stephan
I've been feeling terrible for weeks (even deactivated my facebook account so you know I'm serious haha)
ReplyDeleteSo this is good news to me, even if its a red herring and there isn't much to be excited about. Seeing everybody's enthusiasm and optimism always brings a smile.
Is it Friday yet?
ReplyDeleteIt must be s.th. huge. Craig never post s.th. like this before, didn´t he? I am damn curious. Maybe a Faith Tour with the original line up? Maybe the promised 25th anniversary concert with all ex members? Maybe just a DVD release. I bet NOT. Great post craig. This is nervewrecking
ReplyDeleteDunno why but that came across to me as a half warning of bad things before anything good.
ReplyDeletehmmm... 25 years ago... orange... this is my small vote (and big hope)... :)
ReplyDeleteKel: The Friday thing was a joke. P.M was saying he hoped that the Rebecca Black collaboration was real, and I was jokingly saying that I couldn't reveal that until Friday, which is the name of her horrible song.
ReplyDeleteAs I sit in the delivery room anxiously awaiting the birth of my first son that actually calmed my soon to be fatherly nerves
ReplyDeleteThx for sharing Craig
Jon

ReplyDeletePerfect timing. Just what I needed to be reminded off today. Thanks x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a Faith Concert or 2 with Simon and Lol. I guess Jason wouldn't mind if its just a show? They better film it for dvd/bray though, Trilogy is so amazing, it'd be nice to have that for Faith too.
ReplyDeletelol, thank you Craig :) We started speculations on the french forum, I can now turn them down :D
ReplyDeletewhoa just seeing this now. craig you're scaring me, haha. too anxious to know what's going on.

Digging the suspence.
