Cure finally in Guitar Hero

The Cure's 'Fascination Street' will be included in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. (Thanks rgtschope)

Update: This was released on Set. 28th. Anyone get it? How is it? Here's a video of someone playing the guitar part.
And Rock Band 3, including 'Just Like Heaven', will be released on Oct. 26th.

  1. There was a time where the "purist" in me would've been mad about this, but this is actually pretty cool. Now even more people will be exposed to the greatest band ever.

  3. It's about time! Perfect timing with the song choice and remastered Disintegration, too.

  5. @TheFigurehead

Yes, this was a very funny piece of Cure nostalgia, thanks for the reminder. I am sure Robert especially couldn't give a fuck about being in the RnR Hall of Fame, but I think it is just a travesty that they haven't been nominated. I mean, it has been well over the 25 year mark!

  6. I'd say the cure have about as much a chance as Depeche Mode.. probably even less.

Hell, maybe they could get inducted the same year that Robert Palmer (posthumously) does.

  7. I'm a geek but the Cure for Rockband please? I have a PS3 for nothing :o(

  8. Hate to say it, but Depeche Mode probably has a better chance than The Cure. Heck, perhaps Duran Duran does.

For the record, I believe that all bands mentioned - + New Order - deserve to be inducted.

  9. honestly? speaking for teenagers in the northeast, i have never ever ever met a single live person who liked depeche mode. not that i meet a whole lot of cure fans, but plenty of people know who they are and respect them. they're actually pretty "in" with the emo crowd. depeche mode.. i don't think anyone knows who they are. at least the people i encounter.

  10. Not really a sellout at all, its a 21 year old song thats on an album that has already sold 3.5 million copies world-wide...
If it was from a new album then it would be a sellout but then it would only be like releasing a single, are they sellouts?
This is fine and very good news because the Guitar Hero/Rock Band community have been calling out for Cure tracks for years.

  11. Exactly, Beau.
The way I see it it's just opening the door to a whole new generation of fans!

    Long Live The Cure!! :p

  12. Apparently, talks to include Cure songs on Guitar Hero started 6 years ago but Universal stalled the process...

  13. ...then came Rhino, but they delayed it for three years, unable to decide what song to choose.

  14. It's not bad actually. It's the first song on the "Expert" setting I've been able to get through without failing. The bass line is heavily simplified compared to playing it on a real bass, but the notes are there. There are a couple of guitar bits added to when Robert starts singing, but, while a bit weird, you wouldn't want 16 bars of nothing. Also, you can create a character, and one of the options for hair is "The Remedy" which has a Robertesque hairstyle. My avatar is like a young skinny version of Robert called Smiffy. Good fun.

  15. I'm not a guitar hero fan but this can make me one ;)

    I can see it already.

    The bass in this song.

    There go my windows...

  16. why is glenn danzig singing this?

  17. The only drawback is that this is not ported to PS2. The reason I bought a PS2 a couple years ago was to play guitar hero.

  19. You'd think if they were going to post about that, that they'd also include the Guitar Hero and Rock Band info.
Anyway, good to see them included in that, too.
