Robert Smith action figure

"I customize action figures as a hobby, and I've made one that I'd like to share with fellow COF followers." Shannon says this started out as a Heroes action figure, before transforming into Robert. : ) (Thanks Shannon)

  4. This has got to be the best action figure EVER!!! Are the action guitar and action pint included, or sold separately?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  6. Haha!! He drives a Hummer, I believe so it could be an RS acion set!!

  9. does he really drive a hummer? i find that hilarious LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hahaha! The Hummer can have a little cup holder for the action pint and a built in case for action guitar. I think we are all on to something here...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Luke: apparently so, read it in an RS interview a few years ago.. Although he is well known for talking bollocks in interviews!..

    ReplyDelete
  12. notherbob: very true about the bollocks! lol totally hilarious. I would suppose it's a black Hummer? LOL. at least Dallas has a new Cure tribute band, "Le Cure", they are amazing, some songs it seems like they even play "better" than the Cure, and, they have keyboards! they preform songs from every album up to and including Wish. They play in dallas every thursday sept and october at a bar, i can give more info for anyone that may be in dallas who'd like to attend. they are the best cure cover/tribute band i have ever heard :).

  13. OMG. I need to have such a doll. Something like this should be included into real Cure merchandize. :D

    ReplyDelete
  14. Luke, I live in Dallas. Can you give me the details?

  16. Sure! They call it "black thursdays", every thursday in Sept and Oct, they are playing at the Lakewood Bar and Grill. it's pretty easy to find, if you know Dallas. Show usually starts around 9pm, and they went until a bit past midnight the last time i saw them, they are a very friendly awesome bunch of guys, last show i was at (the 10th), "Robert" let me sing a duet with him on Let's Go To Bed! it was so coool :D it's really like seeing a Cure show!, I don't know if you had the chance to see The Cure @ Deep Ellum Live, but it is almost like that, small setting, but they are loud! the guitarist (who oddly enough kind of looks like Porl), is my cousin-in-law's friend, i saw their very first gig and they were awesome, they started out just playing singles, but they are getting into the bsides and more of the back catalogue, i'm not sure of the exact address, but you can google map it. just type in Lakewood Bar & Grill. the sign out front just says LGB on it, it's a small entrance but a fairly big place. If i have left anything out, feel free to ask me. If you or anyone else would like, you can email me at NINCure@gmail.com for further details! (i hope it's ok to post my email on here..)

  17. one thing i forgot! it's $5 to get in, and they have drink specials, but i don't drink lol, so i don't know exactly what they have.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Awesome! Thanks Luke. I will check it out!

    ReplyDelete
  19. They should sell White Russins, Smithy likes those too apparently..

    ReplyDelete
  20. Rambowl: maybe i will see you there! i am not going this thursday because i already have a ticket to Project Pitchfork. but the 24th and i think pretty much every thurs in october i will be there.
notherbob: i know the guys in the band like Yager (speling?!) bombs, i don't even know what those are LOL, i know what yagermeister is, but not what constitutes a yagerbomb. not sure about the white russians though :)

  21. http://www.lbgdallas.com/calendar.htm
the band already confirmed to me they'll be doing october too. also there are other tribute bands, as you can see on the calendar, i haven't found any i cared for, i saw the David Bowie one, they weren't that great... singer didn't sound like Bowie at all! However the guy who does RS is awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  22. ahh ok, since i don't drink either of those things i didn't know what it was :) thanks for clearing that up hehe.

  23. Thursdays aren't good for me right now but hopefully in October I can go as well. One of my friends I grew up with is a contestant on a television show called Project Runway, so on Thursday nights I go to her house to watch her win. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. i dunno if you know what this is, but Monique (can't remember her last name) had some beauty contest TV shows, one of them was a "plus sized" fashion show, a friend i worked with for over 2 years at Whole Foods won!, $50,000! much luck to your friend!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. rambowl,

SO THE WINNER IS A GIRL! and is from texas? that chops quite a few down. thanks. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Luke, it's all good. I don't drink either...has anyone seen my action pint??? lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow $50,000 is A LOT of money! Thank you! My friends name is "Shirin Askari" if you ever get a chance to watch it.

    BTW, NIN ROCKS!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sofia, I can't say she entirely won.... She won the dress she made for Rebecca Romain 2 weeks ago. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah i'm not usually one to watch those types of shows, but my mom does! i'm not sure if she watches project runway, but she probably does. Best wishes and good luck to your friend, winning that dress is really cool too though!

Supposedly 2 days ago NIN played their last show "ever".. honestly i don't think it's true, all he knows how to do is make music, so whether it's with NIN or just him solo, i'll always listen! NIN totally rocks!! (I also have a NIN tattoo haha)

  30. i'm taking a TV break. this blog at the moment is more active that Twitter. that's saying something! LOL. i'll catch up again in a bit.
    everyone, Take "Cure" ;).

  31. never thought id get to see something like this - the details are great, down to the hair and eyes, nice!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. rambowl,
    ;)

even if she DID actually win the whole thing (and i know they know already) i think she totally deserves it! from what i've seen so far she has the best taste and style!

    ReplyDelete
  33. oh man, the details are great. I want one!

but the jumpsuit reminds me too much of Mike Myers from the Halloween series.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love this! Are you going to sell them, or are you just gonna torture us?!?!?!?!
Is the doll anatomically correct? LMAO Sorry, I get a bit carried away...

Robert said in an interview where fans got to come in and ask questions, that he drives a black 2000 Isuzu Trooper. He said he really doesn't care about having fancy cars.

  36. I bet it's got mafia black tint and 22s. Murdered out! (Don't drink and post, kids)

    ReplyDelete
  37. i would totally buy one of those dolls! and as far as robert and cars, he never seemed like a car person to me, he'd rather collect expensive guitars. however, now all he's playing is different makes of his guitar model, which to me, is kinda lame, one of the things i always loved was his large collection of guitars. they have a guitar designed by porl out now, schecter (spelling) has both of the guitars, i think they also may have an acoustic one... I'd believe an Isuzu Trooper lol, and of course in black :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. hello...

    this is great !

if you want to sell it, tell me...

  46. *LOL* sofia!

    Thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow! The attention to detail is amazing. Right down to a dear little pair of Bunker boots.

Could be used to make a great, creepy, Burtonesque animation.

    ReplyDelete
  48. you do know that Tim Burton is a HUGE Cure fan, and Edward Scissorhands' hair was based on robert's. Burton would love this doll i'm sure!!

i really want one. you should mass market them. lol :)

    ReplyDelete

Please more information if you are planning on EVER making more I bet they'd sell for sure.

Can you add a voice box that has his ending to the Troubadour?

"thank you very much, that was Fucking great"

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow, the action figure is rather cool! I would like one!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Cameron, his ending to the Troubador goes "Thank you very much, that's it. Thank you, this FUCKING ROCKED"

Not that I care, right? haha

    :D

    ReplyDelete
  54. Are you prepared for mass production?

    I'd buy one.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Where can I get one? I would...

    Haha

It's such a nice 'doll', I like it

    ReplyDelete
  56. A suggestion.. Why doesn't the person make, say, ten more then create a quiz/competition link on COF, can't be easy, has to be something tricky and complex.. and the first ten people with the right answer get a Smithy doll?!??

    ReplyDelete
  57. oH NO, DON'T MAKE ME STICK TO THE INTERNET ALL DAY TO WAIT FOR QUESTIONS

    I WANT THAT DOOLL!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well done, Shannon! You are a gifted doll maker! Do you plan on doing likenesses of the other band members?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Btw, love the 'action guitar' and 'action pint'! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Rev that was ME not Cameron - I guess my hubs was singed in

FUNNY you say that b/c right after I posted I got in the car to pick up the kids and Killing an "Another" was just finishing up then heard the ending and was like DOH

    its:

"thank you very much thats it, thank you, it was fucking great!"

    ReplyDelete
  61. 7bluestars, lol. I know. It still makes me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  62. :-D (But you did forget the action telescope! ;-))

    ReplyDelete
  63. Thanks, guys!
I enjoy your sweet and/or hilarious feedback.
I'm actually thinking of doing a Zero Billy Corgan, or an Earthling -era David Bowie.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh! And I need to make Mr.Smith a guitar!
Any thoughts on which one? Schecter Ultracure, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sofia, LMAO.

And that doll looks real, a Mary one is a good idea too! I love her.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Off Topic You Guys...but:

I want Roger back in the Band. It's time!

    ...Just Sayin'

    ReplyDelete
  67. Shannon, and don't forget the action pint!!!! I really need that in my life.

Anah, that would be nice just as long as Porl stays. I did celebratory backflips when I found out Porl was back in the band.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sorry, KelBel - I have to concur with Rev

"Thank you very much, that's it - thank you, this fucking rocked."

    ReplyDelete
  69. Lisey, Kel is right! I just listened to the official release of the show (I always listen to BC's boot instead) and at the end he very clearly says "it's fucking great". Then I re-listened to the boot and yep, he says it there too. Not as good of a controversy as bunny/pony, but hey :D

See you both very soon, I can't WAIT!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Shannon, this doll ia AMAZING!!! I really want one!! He would look great with the UltraCure I think. You should make some more so all of us jealous Cure fans can have the most amazing and perfect Robert doll ever made :)

  71. I´m from Brazil; where can I buy it?!
